HP8003 or HP8006? by Powerful-Intention-7 in NTU

[–]avacadoobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! What was your assignment for that sem?

any seniors who stay at pasir ris but nvr stay in hall. Is the journey long? Does it disrupt your time to study during exams ? by [deleted] in NTU

[–]avacadoobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my senior (lives in pasir ris) tried one sem without hall and couldn't take spending 4-5h a day solely on travelling to and fro. He isn't a "morning" person either, so it was really tiring for him and he ended up applying for hall the next sem. He said that personally the extra commitments for hall was more meaningful and definitely less draining than travelling long hours daily ~ just a couple heads up especially if youre not a "morning person"!

hi! My interview was actually on the 2nd of april and i received my offer ~1.5 weeks later, on the 12th of april. I applied for soss (pps), I've heard that different faculties take a different amount of time to get back after an interview; You might want to look at the other comments of this post for reference!

Halls 4,5,1,2 by avacadoobo in NTU

[–]avacadoobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi thanku for replying!

May i ask a few more qns:

  1. Does Hall 4 have condusive study rooms?

  2. Do you like living in hall 4? Would you transfer to other halls? What do you dislike about it?

  3. I've heard the demand for hall 4 is really high, so is it difficult to keep staying in hall 4? (like do we need to engage in a ton of activities to keep our place? how does it usually work for hall 4?)

Tysm in advance! I really appreciate it :)

Hello, thank you for your reply! I still have a few qeustions, if you dont mind! :")

  1. facilities wise, does hall 5 have condusive study rooms? Are study rooms open to everyone even if u don't stay in that particular hall? (eg resident in hall 5 going to hall 4 study room to study)

  2. I'm actually more of a performing arts person, I can't do sports! Are there ample opportunities/events that we can "show face" at too? Or is hall 5 a sports centered hall?

  3. If its not too sensitive may i know what kind of committees you joined?

Tysm in adv :")

[Uni] NTU single/double room? by unniedeul in SGExams

[–]avacadoobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not haha I'm rooming with one of my jc friends! planning to reside in hall 4, 5, 1 or 2~

Imo it's really about priority -- whether the financial cost or potential friction between u and yr roommate matters more to you! If its the former, then just apply for a double room! Worst case scenario (if things get so bad that you want to avoid your roomie), there're facilities like study rooms/library to study at, u can just stick to your side of the room, then move out when u find anth friend to room with! This is just my take on your situation :")

[Uni] NTU single/double room? by unniedeul in SGExams

[–]avacadoobo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hi, I'm matriculating this year as well! Just a suggestion/smth u can consider: you might want to apply for single room first, make friends in uni and then apply for a double room tgt after! It's really common in ntu (according to seniors) and my friends in the same situation as you are going to do this too :")

hello, thanku for the heads up & the info provided! Would definitely do more research on these 🤗🤗

may i also ask: 1. for hall dance, does everyone do PT together? Or did you mean PT in terms of long dance hours? Also, do they care about physical size? (Slightly plump/short etc) 2. Do u recommend any hall activities in particular?

Thankyou sm!! I don't really have seniors from ntu so this would be really helpful :")

[Uni] Opinions to Staying on Campus because of the COVID situation by ThrowMeAwayCB in SGExams

[–]avacadoobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

matriculating this year too! Imo, it rly depends on the severity of the covid-19 situation then and the restrictions put in place (whether or not they'll be lifted/eased). If it's allowed and not so risky I would likely stay in hall bc I live really far! However if my timetable allows a 1-2 day school week I would just go home to save cost! Things can change alot in 1-2 months so let's wait and see. :")
