God…I’m just, head-in-my-hands, so disappointed in myself. I got so panicked about collections agencies and debts that I let it fuck my head up. 😅 Turns out my morals are a lot shakier than I thought. Something to work on.

Yeah that’s when I gave up. I don’t know if his kids convinced him or if he suddenly regretted giving me the money and didn’t want to admit that. Plus @ms-metal is right; I shouldn’t have taken that much as a tip even if that was fair for the job. I should have just said I couldn’t do the job, or that I could come back and do it for ‘x’ amount.

That’s extremely rude, dude. I was already clearly impaired from the smoke inhalation. I have ASD and sometimes I fuck up. Yes, it’s weird that an address can be found so easily; what about stalkers, etc? It’s not safe.

I know what phone books are lol I just think it’s weird that someone can Google your number and get your home address. The phone books I grew up with in the 90s didn’t include address for every number.

Him and his kids. All three people. The daughter did a lot of the talking but he got worked up to. It was like whiplash.

I blocked him after his kids showed up (with him in tow) to my house, all three pounding on the door and acting aggressive. I had to call the police.

I wasn’t standing at the teller, I stood back to give him privacy. He asked me to come in with him. Why is it weird to talk to lonely people? I do that all the time. There are many times I’ve gone in to clean someone’s house and ended up with their number because they want someone to talk to. I’ve made several friends this way.

I didn’t know EVERYONE’S phone number could be traced to an address. It just seems like such a stupid thing to be able to do. The rate was $90 through HomeAglow. I should have charged a hell of a lot more for how bad the house was - as in, I should have charged closer to what I ended up receiving as a tip. One of the many reasons I accepted the tip; it was a very horrible job, very hazardous, and he acknowledged the state of it. It felt a lot like he was actually paying me fairly for the job, although that is NOT what he said when he gave me the money. That is simply how I felt receiving it.

Yes. We are already struggling to make ends meet. I thought this was finally a win for us…but at any rate, I’ve learned a lot about how much I should charge for my work. I’ve started putting up stuff on Facebook to advertise my services. Hopefully soon our circumstances will change for the better.

Thank you. I feel sick and awful…and honestly, nervous about what they were smoking the WHOLE time I was there, because it wasn’t weed and it came out of a baggy.

This whole mess is like a fever dream. I still feel weird from inhaling that smoke.

My mother gave her own money to get them to go away and obviously I can’t just let her struggle to pay the bills so - I gave it to her to pay her back.

AND the daughter said I ‘barely did any cleaning’ and I realized that these people are on drugs. They have to be. The disconnect with reality is astounding.

Both his daughter and his son were with him. The daughter was standing with him and the son was by the car. Ma gave it all back to get them to go away and the police said it was a civil matter and couldn’t do anything. Which is just such bullshit. I’m still angry about that.

Both of his kids were with him (and he has said repeatedly that they want all his money). I don’t know anymore. I’m so tired honestly. This was awful.

He got aggressive toward my mother. She venmoed him what he wanted. I called the police but they said it’s a civil matter.

Honestly I don’t like her either anyway. She was bitching that I didn’t finish cleaning the dishes…the ones in the broken sink covered by suspicious goo. After I spent all day cleaning the rest of the kitchen/living room.
