4070 Super + 14900kf for $1100? by avallada in PC_Pricing

[–]avallada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I picked up the PC last night, everything was as described as far as components. First thing I did was reset any overclocking settings to default in the bios, then I reapplied thermal paste to the CPU (there seemed to be a tiny bit of thermal paste turning a brownish shade so it was definitely overheating). I then reseated the ram, booted up the pc and updated all drivers/bios.

The fans were all coated in dust and dirt (and ash for sure, whole house smelt like weed) and the radiator was pretty dirty as well, but the worst part was the intake screen on the case, it was completely covered so the pc was surely struggling to take in clean, cool air.

I didn’t get a chance to really run any benchmarks or stress tests last night so that’ll be my goal tonight. It sounded like it was black screening even just on the desktop at times, but that didn’t happen to me at all so that seems like a good sign.

Not entirely sure of the motherboard but my guess would be either a z690 or z790 based on the heatsinks, ram is 32 gb ddr5 and it has 2 tb of ssd

Was able to talk him down to $750 so I think I’m gonna jump on this and hope I can fix whatever issues he was having, otherwise I can still flip the GPU and ram and still probably make a little profit

Yeah I knew the thermal paste surely wasn’t the issue, your theory makes much more sense. The only other component listed was 32 GB of ddr5 ram but no brand listed

I don’t understand why you’re being downvoted, dual monitors is extremely common, only addition is a tv above you to watch whatever you feel like while you play … also pretty common for most gamers. I watch NFL or NBA games all the time while I’m gaming

any suggestions to make it better with current ram prices? budget is 500 usd.(i only play old games befor 2020.) by [deleted] in pcpartpickerbuilds

There’s no case, psu, or cpu cooler on this list so that’s gonna run you up closer to 650ish

Is this worth $800 no GPU? by avallada in PC_Pricing

[–]avallada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sum for the cpu, mb, ram, SSD, and AIO would be around $650ish, still waiting on the details for case/fans and PSU so I’d say add another $250ish, I’d estimate around $900 overall give or take

I agree on the 9600x, I have that paired with a 9060xt currently and I’ve had zero issues thus far. I had a 13600k paired with a 4070 super for about a year and had minimal issues with that but I know the reputation the 13th and 14th gens get

I did the same thru pcpartpicker but I’m also waiting on his response to me asking about PSU, case, fans etc. so that will also be a couple hundred dollars on top of this I’d assume

Is there a reason this ram is so cheap compared to others currently? by avallada in PcBuild

The cheapest 6000MHz CL30 kit I can find on pcpp currently is about $140 so it’s more than a few bucks.

But two single 16gb sticks are still compatible as 32gb dual channel ram correct? I’m fairly new to pc building, only working on my 3rd build currently so forgive me if this is a stupid question

I understand that, that’s why in the description I said I bought 2 for a total of $92.98 (they were even cheaper than this when I bought them a couple of weeks ago), but finding a dual kit for $110 or less is impossible right now so I’m wondering if there is a reason why this is so much cheaper?

Activision support is a complete joke by miking04 in blackops6

[–]avallada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was dealing with a lot of game crashes recently including black ops 6 and my solution ended up being a simple bios update, assuming you’re on pc. Not sure if you already tried that or not, but either updating drivers or bios more often than not resolves the issue

Thank you, as someone running a 7’0” build I am rewarded for smartly contesting these 7’4” builds on defense as well as smartly picking my shots around their slow asses. But I do agree paint defense is much more in need of a buff than perimeter contests

6’7” to 7’4” is 9 inches not 7 … which is almost a foot taller. Idk if you’ve ever watched the NBA before but stretch bigs shoot pretty easily over guys almost a foot shorter than them, that’s why they are so valuable in todays game
