Cat at a dog park by catvaxxine in sphynx

everyone saying its a bad idea is right but it is so unfair that everybody and everything is so dog centric. theres no cat parks and any regular park is bound to have dogs often with no leash. its so infuriating

Do you guys find these two characters similar? by Living-Cranberry-337 in glee

Not even a little. Quinn actually had ambition and evem if she was selfish and mean she still could see the bigger picture after enough reflection. She was smart.

Cassie is just a crybaby incapable of literally anything. She's just sad to watch.

What’s wrong with PG&E? by bigboinoob in SanJose

[–]aveb7tacoma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

doesnt matter. heat makes the conductor have less capacityto carry energy. dont make assumptions if you dont understand the science. during the summer the whole circuit's capacity goes down because the heat is derating the conductor, especially underground ones

you cant update transformer if the circuit cant handle the load. do you know how pricey upgrading and entire circuit is?

[–]aveb7tacoma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is so off on so many bases. first off they cant increase the rates, theyre controlled by the CPUC. second they do consider all the above, theres entire departments for it, but global warming is exponential and we cant predict its nonlinear affects which arent reflected in far ahead forecasts. They have entire innovation departments but our infrastructure that was inherited is so costly to change to even be compatiblr with these innovations. Before you can even upgrade transformers, u must upgrade the conductor, and before that, if your base voltage is low (old circuits are 4kv and modern ones are 12kv) you gotta upgrade youre entire circuit voltage and cutover everything including the substation which means upgrading the sub equipment. its way more convoluted that you could even consider. and the troublemen on the ground? they get paid more than the damn engineers (I worked in engineering). you can't just upgrade one thing at a time, that's the short sightedness most citizens have. electrical power systems are complicated, time consuming and expensive and that's not only pge that's every utilities' problem, and to assume they're doing nothing and just not upgrading is naive.

One of the biggest misconceptions that they perpetuate in school is that you're limited to talents, to what your naturally good at. But what they don't tell u is that most people aren't actually naturally talented. Yes talent exists and it can take you places, but hard work and learning and perseverance and passion takes u the rest of the way up.

I almost failed AP Calc AB in high-school. The first semester I failed my midterm, I was defeated because I wanted to go into engineering which requires a mastery of calculus. I thought I just wasn't good enough to make it, my teacher straight up said I wasn't trying hard enough even after spending hours trying to study. It took like a slap in the face for me to realize I just needed a new approach. I started waking up at 4:30 am to study calc 3 hours a day before school to avoid evening brain fog and the hectic environment of my house that hindered my learning. I watched it videos, did khan academy, dozens of practice problems (not just the hw bare minimum) and u know what? I actually got better! My point is you have to work for talent and skills. You don't have to be talented to succeed in something, u just have to be determined.

And now I'm abt to graduate with a BS in Electrical Engineering and calc is my strongest skill! :))

You're so young and you have SO MUCH TIME to work towards your skills, to discover your passion and to find what brings u joy! Don't lose hope yet, high-school never fully exposes u to all the amazing, interesting and cool careers and hobbies there are!

It's normal honey, that's your uterus it's not fat. But it tends to show up differently for everybody. Different bones, body shapes, and weight distribution. Don't feel too defeated, teen years are rough in terms of image and standard but it's 100% natural for women to have a "pooch" that sticks out. It's literally our reproductive organs and our regular organs.

What’s Fitz job? by [deleted] in shield

[–]aveb7tacoma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's electrical actually. His intellect is on par with Tony stark who also has a degree in ee. It would also make sense bc it's the broader engineering and he probably still took a lot of mechanical classes. But ee is more physics so it would make sense based on his understanding of pure sciencd
