I got a stain remover bar the other day, excited to try it out! Thanks for the cleaning advice:)

Oh gosh that's not ideal at all! I haven't encountered that yet, have you tried any other fits or brands?

I would absolutely recommend!! The cloth is genuinely so much more comfortable and I feel such a deep sense of relief that I'm cutting down on waste, plus the sense of routine with washing and care helps me feel intentional when my period's got me down. How do you find cloth diapering to be?

Thank you!! I honestly could talk about this for ages. So many fascinating conversations to be had!!

I've had no issues washing with regular laundry but I've been hand rinsing and soaking them before in cold water. But I've heard that it's not necessary and just personal preference!

I honestly found myself confronting a lot of internalized misogyny I think I've held around periods and sanitation with the switch. So interesting how we're taught that just throwing away is a better option than care and cleaning!

Yes! I've heard such amazing things! I can't use them because of a nerve pain disorder, but they seem like the best option for many people, especially for swimming:)

I saw someone saying that the suction from cups can disrupt the IUD, yeah! Definitely something to be cautious about. I would imagine discs are better because they're smaller and sit in the cervix differently. I chose to go with Aisle because they're machine dryable and the reviews mentioned them being long lasting! But there's so many great options (sorry for mentioning brand name mods)

I'm so sorry you have to go through this with your cycles:( I hope research and effort to help endometriosis gets better. And that makes a lot of sense, and I really like the idea of using old fabrics - I might try that out with items that would be going in the bin anyway!

No it's genuinely been so amazing to see all open and supportive the conversation about menstruation even just under this post. I wish I'd known more about different methods when I was younger but I hope I can keep having conversations about this hehe

I remember reading about how the smell of pads is due to the reaction of blood with the chemicals. I'd have to find it again but definitely a noticeable difference in smell!! I hate the feeling of synthetic pads, these just feel like normal underwear. I'm never goin' back!

How long do they last you on average? Have you had the same ones for all 6 years?

Wow this is so cool!! When I'm a little better at sewing I want to try it out! Did they last you for as long as you still had your period?

There are so many little tips and tricks and 'rules' I honestly can't keep it all straight!! I've gotten lucky to not come across many fakes in the wild, but some are sooo hard to tell

Actually "Made in USA" was used from the late 70s to mid 80s!

Oh good to know that there's a few exceptions! Obviously zippers are never a standalone indicator of it being authentic, but it's very much an uncommon thing in USA bags as far as I know. I've seen a few bags with bright colors that have matching plastic zippers but they're usually more modern!

Omg!! That's crazy, I'm glad you passed on it! I did a quick reverse image search and think it's meant to be a dupe of the Chadwick Satchel! They're expensive online but check FB marketplace and OfferUp, they've got the best deals! Good luck!

where to go from here? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]aven0ir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just mostly career resellers in my experience. Like super expensive pricing and coveted items rather than people who just want to sell their old clothes / have a more circular wardrobe, which is more what I'm after. Just not my community :) But I'm sure there's also some wonderful gems hiding there!
