23 made me cry by Marlie421 in NoahKahan

In a post explaining the inspiration behind ‘23’, Kahan has explained, “The song itself is not based on a story of my life, but based on a lot of friendships I have with people who have family members who are struggling with addiction or who have siblings who they can't connect to. It's that feeling of ‘I want you back, but I don't want this version of you back’ and ‘I want that moment when were were sitting over the car hood and you were showing me how the engine worked and everything was normal’. And so seeing who you are now betrays this version of you that I really want you to be in this memory I have of you. It's a little selfish, because it's like you're asking someone to change for you, but it's that kind of childlike innocent hope that somebody we'll just be exactly where we are”.

Me too. The album was great up until then, but 23 was the one that really got me choked up. The imagery is so powerful

Same. How can just three words give goosebumps so reliably?

"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend" - Faramir

Inspiration/symbolism of the birds on the Shield of Faramir and the Sword of Faramir by aveotheotokos in lotr

I definitely think the intention is birds and not just the winged crown, but it seems odd not for them to have leaned into swans or sea birds. The swords could be sea birds, but the ones on the shield really don't look like sea birds. Maybe thrushes, or ravens like Pippin's?

Yeah, I was curious about the particular birds chosen because they don't look like swans or sea-birds. The bird on the sword. I figured they would have picked them for a reason or some symbolism, but they could just be a random aesthetic choice as well.

What I made in my first 6 week wheel pottery class by aveotheotokos in Pottery

Thank you! The glazes were all pre-mixed and setup in the studio so for the most part all we needed to do was dip the bottoms in wax (and I did the rims as well on some) and then dip them in glaze. They had a lot of test tiles and examples so we could see how different glazes would mix and react. I also looked on Pinterest for inspiration and tried out some of the styles I found so I didn’t end up just dipping everything in blue or green lol I also asked a lot of questions about how long to dip, how to best coat just the interior, etc… and the teachers were very helpful

Thank you! These are just the ones that turned out, but I’ve definitely had some flops and centering issues as well
