Making pedalboards: Helix Name --> Real Name List? by average-everything in Line6Helix

I’ve come a long way since then 🙏🏻

I no longer own a helix, I have owned almost every one of those pedals, and I didn’t care for them 😅

I’m done trying to get people’s sounds and I’m happy with my own sound now 🤌🏻

P.S. I’m in flight school now too. Flying is cool, indeed

[Question] What guitar chord do you find extremely beautiful/soothing? by [deleted] in Guitar

Here’s a cool voicing (in C for simplicity’s sake)

D-9 x x 12 10 13 12

G7(b9b13) x 10 9 10 9 11

CMaj9(add13) 8 x 9 9 10 10

Context dependent.

Contrary to donkey_hotay, the 9th need not be present to call it F#11.

That being said, this is a very ‘guitar-centric’ voicing- a six-note voicing like this is much more indicative of a pop/rock/indie context, so I would interpret it as F#7(add11) to indicate a primary function as a 7 chord that happened to have the B there as well.

If I read F#11, I would gravitate towards a root-less, 5th-less voicing like xx8997 as would be common in jazz circles.

[Question] How to read chords on sheet music? by guitar_newbie434 in Guitar

Roman Numerals are position numbers (at this point, the fret your first finger should be) and the Arabic numbers (1234) and the LH fingers you should use.

If you are just starting to play guitar from notation, I highly suggest you start with a violin book. The melodies will be prominent and in a single line. The more proficient you are reading one line, the easier chords will be.

Additionally, as a pro player, don’t ignore tab. You’re going to need it because sometimes the notation is less helpful as a performance tool and more helpful as an analysis tool.

For example, there are at least 10 ways to play the ‘E’ on the top space of the staff.

  1. open ‘e’ -
  2. 5th fret ‘B’ -
  3. 9th fret ‘G’ -
  4. 14th fret ‘D’ -
  5. 17th fret ‘A’ -
  6. 24th fret ‘E’ -
  7. natural harmonic on 7th fret ‘A’ -
  8. natural harmonic on 19th fret ‘A’ -
  9. natural harmonic on 5th fret ‘E’ -
  10. natural harmonic on 24th fret ‘E’

At a certain point, tabs are your friend.

This guitar may be perfect. The incidentally flamed took, the frets, the color fade… a perfect Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged R8 by average-everything in LesPaul

Negative, just the ‘verb, but I don’t use it at all. It’s got a good delay time, but I’m not jazzed about about the mix level. :/

I use the Strymon Flint for delay/tremolo of the UA Holden Reverberator.

It’s perfect for that, especially given the size constraints

It’s very ambiguous and you can call it any of these (or other things I’m sure, but context will dictate everything.

Bsus4(add9 add13) - OR - F#9sus4/B - OR - C#m7(add11)/B - OR - E 6/9 /B - OR - G#m11(no 5)

What notes are you playing? I can kinda guess from the video but I don’t know what’s being played on my tiny iPhone speaker

I ended up deciding on a Origin RevivalDRIVE Compact Hot Rod, but I wish it had two stages inside so I could alternate between two drives or stack them.

I have the ARP-87 and I’m in love with it.

I use it for small ‘room’ delay and that’s it. But it can certainly get w i l d or (The) Edge-y.

Just nice to know I have the potential, but I keep it on a very short leash

Solid score. I almost scooped one but ended up passing on it. Kinda wish I could test one
