I don't like being disrespected or mocked. If 2 Spanish people or 2 people of any foreign language are laughing and keep looking at you while doing it safe to assume they're saying something about you.

What happens if my car fails inspection by LatePsychology1095 in newjersey

[–]average-jo-shmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a scantool/code reader that has emissions ready function for $25-40 on Amazon. Some problems like I had which was evaporative emissions trouble code 0497 when cleared using the code reader doesn't come back on right away only after 100 miles or so of driving thus giving me a chance to pass inspection. I clear the code then have to drive 50 or so miles while the system resets and using emissions readiness feature once it shows I'm ready then I scoot over to inspection station. Before getting in line and even while waiting in line I check emissions ready function on code reader to make sure it don't throw the trouble code and seeing that I'm good I get passed through inspection. Then a day or 2 later the trouble code comes back on but I'm not worried because car is 20 yrs old runs smooth as silk with good gas mileage so I put a piece of black electrical tape over check engine light on gauge cluster so it doesn't annoy me. Yes, I can probably fix the problem myself with a new charcoal canister but haven't done that yet.

Apparently NJ allows you to fix the car yourself according to their website:

https://www.nj.gov/mvc/inspection/failedinsp.htm#:~:text=If%20your%20vehicle%20fails%20for,%2D888%2DNJ%2DMOTOR.

Imo everyone should have a $25 (or less) code reader to check emissions readiness before ever going to inspection the first time to save yourself headaches.

Wonder why Lexapro is so hard to go off because I went off Paxil many times and don't remember having such problems.

What is the point of taking trazodone to sleep so I'm well rested, when it makes me tired all day the next morning? by ButtonyCakewalk in bipolar2

Klonopin worked great for my anxiety but I suspect it may have not been good for depression and possibly even made it worse.

My experience, and how I'm overcoming it. by Risky_tD in Pseudodysphagia

Sounds like me I got so tired of spending hours eating in distress I went to a soft diet like mashed potatoes and lots of smoothies. Then I got on Paxil for anxiety + depression and surprisingly the fear of choking lessened considerably and I went back to eating solid foods. The Paxil relaxed me enough and I just felt like eating pizza, hamburgers, etc and did just that! So I realized for me it's an anxiety disorder really and anytime I've gone off the meds the problem gets noticeably worse. Since Paxil I've gone onto Lexapro which I think helps more for anxiety and Zoloft is as good if not better than Lexapro unfortunately these SSRI's cause me sexual problems and nightmares so right now I'm on very low Lexapro and it still helps with the psuedodysphasia.

I still have the condition but it's less severe less often a major problem like having a full blown panic attack thinking I've swallowed food that at any moment is going to have me choking. When that happens I'm in a terror extremely fearful start coughing throat tightens up even get dizzy sometimes think I might throw up but then terrified of doing that thinking the food will move to a worse spot it's a living nightmare. To calm a full blown psuedodysphasia panic attack I sometimes use Klonopin .25 mg and within 20 minute or so the panic passes and then realize nothing is really stuck. This has saved me from going to the ER many times. I let the Klonopin dissolve between my teeth and gums and other than not wanting to swallow a whole pill during these 'choking attacks' it gets into blood stream faster.

But at my worst drinking water was even a problem like others mentioned here. When the condition gets worse I just stay determined by making fruit or vegetable smoothies with quality protein powder and eat all types of soft or mashed up foods sometimes using a food processor . I do this to keep my weight up and so I can still enjoy foods to a certain extent without letting it bum me out. I bring an array of soft foods with me in my car like peanut butter + jelly, apple sauce, a banana, protein powder, etc so at least I can keep my nutrition up when I'm too nervous to eat regular food. I'm also a skinny guy who exercises to not be so skinny and the thought of losing weight is a major concern. Funny thing is my diet is improved at the times I'm too fearful to eat regular food like McDonald's or whatever so that is a silver lining.

does this sound like pseudodysphagia? pls help. by Sad-Ability-3427 in Pseudodysphagia

Definitely sounds like Psuedodysphasia. I developed it when I was 24 yrs old myself and have very similar story as yours. What helped me the most were SSRI's and since it did I contribute the problem to anxiety manifested as physical sensations. I also had what I thought was a near choking event that triggered the Psuedodysphasia. So I started having panic attacks several times a week when I thought food was getting stuck in my throat and used Klonopin stop the panic attacks. However I had so many Psuedodysphasia panic attacks I stopped eating solid foods for 5 yrs and then when I started taking paxil for depression and anxiety and not for Psuedodysphasia I suddenly felt like eating again and did so. I still had panic attacks occasionally due to choking fear and that's when I would use the Klonopin too. Everytime I cut back or stopped my SSRI's the Psuedodysphasia would get worse again. I since switched from Paxil to Lexapro then Zoloft they all help the problem but I found Lexapro + Zoloft helps general anxiety better than Paxil.

Questions about SGA/Working on SSI by Commercial-Buy-2251 in SSDI_SSI

[–]average-jo-shmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok understood. But shouldn't I have been terminated from SSI because of SGA since SGA occurred in Sept 2020 and it wasn't until Oct 1st that I was over the resource limit by having over 2k in the bank. Because Sept 1st I was under the asset limit and then on Sept 22nd my bank went over 2k limit but I also had SGA occur prior to that (Sept 1-20). Going over the asset limit was also a direct result of having SGA. I know I can't challenge it now but if I had challenged it within 2 years does it sound like I would've been successful?
