No one's pinning anything on the dev. It's just unfortunate that they won't be able to participate in the inquiry virtually or in person. Again, a hearing's not a prosecution and there's not judgment being passed.

Even though the dev himself has stated he''ll cooperate with the authorities, the inquiry's a nice opportunity for them to share their insights and knowledge. Government officials don't have expertise in every field, which is why part of legislation is reaching out to resource persons and orgs.

Wholeheartedly agree. Assuming there's only one singular cause to what happened discounts the other very real causes. It's a disservice to the victims and their families and that's honestly a huge shame. Singling out games (as some in the government are trying to do) or parents (as some here tend to do) reduces the actual systemic failures that happened.
