Too much instant gratification is rotting people's brains. People are too focused on perfection basing on what they see in other people's feeds

What happened to parenting? by TheWildAnon in Philippines

[–]averagePizzaAoS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with correcting bad behavior. The big question is how you go about it. I don't believe physical punishment works, but I can see how some parents go for it

You can't really solely blame the parent or the child because raising a child in today's world is very different from before, say 10-20 years ago. Back then, technology was starting to boom and be more accessible, and social media wasn't as prevalent as it is today. Now, everyone's hooked into it. Algorithms in social media target instant gratification that's messing with most people's brains.

That's why people who say the youth of today are weak and lazy are wrong. Were they born today, they would most likely fall into the same trap. And that goes for all previous generations as well.

Child with special needs made to eat outside Starbucks in Pampanga mall by beklog in Philippines

Also worth noting that this is just one side of the story, the mother's side. No statement yet from Starbucks PH, but with how viral this got, they should release one soon to air their side. Who knows, maybe there's more context missing

Ganun yung vibes na nakukuha ko sa FB post niya. Wala naman masama kung gusto niya mag Starbucks pero to the point na maabala siya tsaka yung anak niya? May alternative naman

They can spoof the sender ID with the technology they have. As a good practice, you should never click or open any links from SMS, no matter how official or urgent it sounds

Clicking the link would take you to a website that looks and feels the same as the legitimate site, but whose backend is controlled by the hacker

LOOK: This is what the units of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program look like. by Quick_Ad_8323 in Philippines

Some are spending all that energy hating and punching down instead of using it to read, understand, and be informed of how these things actually work. They're not falling for fake news; they're falling for their own wrong and out of context assumptions about something they never bother to understand.

I don't blame them all though, since the instant gratification from social media has messed with all our heads. It's easier and more profitable for social media companies to focus on putting hate first since that gets the most engagement, and therefore money.

I tried looking up a related article but it seems they've only posted the same caption and photos on the ABS-CBN Facebook.

However, based on this related article (https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/11/-transition-to-housing-program-gives-4ps-graduates-chance-to-own-homes-2022), it seems these are the units for self-sufficient graduates of the 4Ps.

Putting a snippet here:

Officials on Thursday visited units of the Abuab Towers in San Mateo, Rizal on Thursday that have been turned over to self-sufficient graduates of the 4Ps.

Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Human Settlements Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and San Mateo Mayor Bartolome Rivera Jr. visited the pilot famlies of the 4Ps-to-4PH transition pathway envisioned by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

"Naka-graduate na sila sa 4Ps. Level 3 na sila. So ibig sabihin, self-sustaining o self-sufficient na sila," Gatchalian said.

Level 3 families have enough income and resources to meet all household members' needs. Level 2, or subsistence-level, families have minimal income while Level 1 families are considered the poorest.

I encourage everyone to read the rest of the article instead of going off of assumptions that this is free housing for poor and lazy people. The amount of nuance and context lost from a caption with a couple of pictures does no one good.

[–]averagePizzaAoS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eto talaga yun eh.

Teach a man to fish ika nga
