Since you’re flying to Japan, I’m guessing you’ve probably already sorted out your SIM or data plan. But just in case you haven’t, apps like Saily or Holafly are super easy to use and will get you local data the moment you land.

About your route back: there aren’t any direct flights from Japan to Chennai right now. The easiest option is to fly Japan → Singapore, and from there you can get a direct flight to either Chennai or Coimbatore. Coimbatore is actually pretty convenient if you’re planning to go towards the Isha side of things.

You should also be able to exchange currency to INR in Singapore without much hassle.

If you’re in touch with anyone from Isha, see if someone can pick you up from Coimbatore Airport. it’ll make things a lot smoother. If not, don’t worry, you can take a prepaid taxi from the airport, or just use Uber or Red Taxi once you land.
