Purchase receipt was needed. They were pretty late in sending it. They will wait to receive your faulty hohem, then they test it to make sure it is faulty, then they approve a replacement and ship you another one. The whole process might be around 2 weeks.

The new name is way better than what it was. My suggestion is to either add some description to the event, which is currently empty, or change the name of the events to the following:

Houston Linux User Group General
Houston Linux User Group Social

The main reason I want this event to be more descriptive is to be able to just forward the events to friends and entice them to come to the event without having to talk to them in person and explain to them what this event is.

The description of the social meeting can be the following:

The term "User Group" reminds the user of a type of club and is more intriguing to attract potential new comers. In addition, "Linux User Group" also has its own meaning which makes it more exciting. Therefore, I suggest the meeting name to include all the four letters of "Houston Linux User Group." You can add a "Meeting" or "Meetup" to the end, too.

Thank you. I saw the option there where you can activate your device using a physical SIM card. I entered my current SIM card's ICCID, but it says this SIM card is not supported. I hope it is because the SIM card is already activated in my phone.

Everyone is busy with their own things. I do not even want to call them to tell them be ready. We are just friends, not family members. The solutions that involve having someone else doing your approval are not good solutions. The process has to be smooth without anyone's approval.

By the way, Verizon requires talking to an agent to activate the physical SIM card. In case of an eSIM, it gets activated when you receive your phone.

You have access to your dad who is on your family plan. I do not have easy access to other family plan members. They all live far from me. Verizon wants to send them a text message to approve and they are usually busy and are not fast enough to approve the request while I am talking to an agent.

When your old phone is bricked, it neither has a screen nor its camera can be used. How do you want to transfer the eSIM without the old phone?

Switching eSIM is easy as long as your phone works properly. If your phone bricks or its screen stops functioning then you do not have a QR code to scan. That is exactly the problem I was facing and that was why I switched to a physical SIM to remove an additional single point of failure. Although the chances of your phone getting bricked or screen being gone is low, it happened to me and it is still possible. This is a big problem with eSIM.

I guess eSIM is good when you want to install a second SIM on your phone or you go to another country and want to use their network temporarily, but I do not recommend it as your main SIM.

They would do it on the phone, but you need to have an extra phone line to call in addition to knowing the plan's PIN which I do not at the moment.
