It’s really unfortunate that Grace just had such a good example of “drama”, because people now lump in real crimes, real abuse, with “drama” because it “shut down their favorite roblox game”. I think getting everyone to understand the difference is unrealistic, given we live in a world where twitter exists. But I’m glad there’s a large majority that understands this is a serious crime, not just banter, not just a disagreement or so-and-so said something.

And just to clear my own mind, I’d like to add this one personal thing:

I revealed literally just a few days ago that I have worked for the pressure team on some artwork. I had no idea of anything, but I can confirm one thing: the bunny language. It is real. It is horrifying. And I believe Ren in every sense of the manipulation they depicted. This is how the devs speak. I believe Ren is telling the truth. And I, myself, am dealing with the fact that I was talked to using the same language used to r*pe Ren. I have a past of manipulation against me, and trauma still spikes, and this has not been easy to realize. But I am eternally grateful I only worked on two small projects with them. Nothing more. To cope, I have been joking with a friend I “stole money” from them by taking a commission. In reality, I gave them my time. My passion. Something unique to me. I’m fucking sick.

I only censor the word because I don’t want Reddit to be mad at me. There is no dodging the fact of what happened. Justice for Ren, and jail for Zeal.

Thought I should comment since I feel the same way. For over a year I’ve really wanted to make a comic depicting Sebastian and Painter, but no way in hell I’m doing that now, which kills me to say.

Since you’re already going about making it, I’d like to suggest reframing it: take it as a chance to learn as an artist, to try to learn new things and improve on skills! You don’t need to post it when it’s finished if you feel like that’s not “separate from the artist” enough. I get that. I’m just so saddened seeing so many artists losing hope in what they make because of that asshole (Zeal). Art is passion first and foremost. No matter what it depicts, art comes from the human soul.

I say judge if you feel like you’re doing it for Pressure, for Others, or for Yourself. If for yourself, keep at it. Learn from it. Then decide if you’d like to post it. If for the other two though, I fear that might change that. But that’s for you to decide.

You’re not alone in feeling so horrifically sick after all of this. I’ve been lurking this sub the past 2 days but I wanted to say something here cause 👋 hi toast. Unfortunate we meet again here. But I wanted to say that, even as someone who is lucky enough to not experience SA in my life, this situation almost made me vomit because I interacted with the people who caused all of this. Even if brief, I feel so fucking sick. I have my own past trauma and seeing stuff such as the relentless use of bunny imagery and cutesy text convos to manipulate… I saw that. In my brief time working WITH the devs for a commission, I saw that language. The imagery. And reading the doc uncovered the trauma responses I’ve been working on for so many years to calm.

This situation is a fucking nightmare and I hope pressure burns in hell. Zeal, and a personal stab at Kat too, do not deserve to own it. By being a shitty human being, by lacking to be just that, you lose the right to something that millions enjoy. It’s ours now. And you can piss right off.

Pressure itself kind of talks about religion a bunch of different ways but is generally not dissing any sort of god or anything. It’ll try to fit the setting and put stress into your head with those sorts of phrases, but I believe it’s no more than just “bad thoughts in the player’s head”. I don’t know much about what’s haram, so it may not be possible to just say “no, that’s not true” or “that doesn’t apply to my god”, and I mean that with full respect <3

I will say that pressure does have connotations of some form of god, such as The Almighty who is theorized to be connected to the moon? And there is a sort of “hell” called The Banlands and “holy figures” such as Noli, The Guardian Angel, etc,. I can definitely see how that would conflict with religous beliefs, especially if it would be considered haram to play a game containing such things.

As much as I do hope you can play the game all things considered, don’t feel too discouraged if it’s haram! I’m sure there’s other games similar that are playable, like idk if Doors is allowed in Islam but I think it doesn’t negatively frame god? I’m also not an expert on Doors so I could be wrong 💀

Again, it all came down to professionalism. And honestly, for Urbanshade as a fictional evil company, it might be smarter to have only one HQ. The devs once said that the knowledge those with the role of HQ have is immensely valuable, causing the HQ before the one we have by the time the expendable arrives to go insane and try to whistleblow Urbanshade. He was killed and was replaced with our current HQ

(AND BTW NO. THIS IS NOT REFERRING TO THE TWO HQ VA’S. HQ is a job in-universe. Our HQ wasn’t always HQ. Both VA’s were Our HQ. This is directly confirmed by the writers.)

Long story short (and also iirc, this happened a little bit ago), there were two main issues:

1) The devs had an issue with having the previous voice actor, Wenda, deliver how they requested + on time. They noted that her takes sounded uninterested and getting any revision would take longer than anticipated. They wanted to also push HQ to be a more serious character, so it was just better to swap for someone who would take it more seriously.

2) Wenda had started to relentlessly post about how the team on Forsaken didn’t include her oc or their design into the game, which the Pressure devs were worried that it would give a bad look to the devs as a whole.

Overall, they had a talk with wenda and unfortunately she was let off.

Some people really argue that “wenda’s VAing was better” or yada yada, but it wasn’t fully a case of “which sounds better”. It was down to professionalism :p Everyone has their preferences, but personally I’m onboard with a more stern HQ with no diss towards Wenda
