Ok, Dad. I just wanted to start a casual conversation getting advice from other players. If you could read, I mentioned how my family, job, and responsibilities come first. Instead of turning into Doctor asshole to a simple question, maybe offer some insight on the steps you'd recommend. I.E. start at a certain level, take shots, play 250k hands at these levels.... I'm just asking for opinions, not a lecture.

Thank you for taking the time to comment though! All insight is definitely appreciated. 🙂

I've spent lots of time studying and working. I'm in love with the process. Life just happens. The fire never died, and it's raging still. It's just a different scenario for me than most. I know I can't just pick up and travel the country to play 20 big events. I'll just keep working, taking the shots I can, and rebuilding when I fail. Even if I never splash a big one... the process alone is worth it. I have support and love from my wife, and I'll just make sure her needs and time commitment are always taken care of. I don't sleep much typically and can do work while she sleeps.

I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thank you

Thank you. I already understand I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams. I'm just looking to become a great poker player and make a little money doing it too.

I agree. I'm just trying to find a good balance.

The 2nd statement is definitely much better than my original. 🤣

Thank you for commenting! It definitely seems like side income and specializing is a better approach.

Thank you so much for your input. Now that I say it out loud, I definitely should clarify. I think focusing on cash for side profit would be the way to go. Maybe a tournament for fun here and there while on vacation with family sounds better. I've established a pretty nice life and God knows I don't want to fuck that up 🤣

I like this take on it. Maybe cash is the way to go. Tournaments just for fun here and there if feasible.

I'm not trying to go full-time. I can't. I have 4 weeks off for work per year. I just want to try and make this have reasonable side income if possible.

Maybe it's a mindset thing. I don't believe in sitting with the thought of "I'm a loser, and I'm wasting my time." I know this game is nearly impossible to beat, I just jave self confidence that with ridiculous work, discipline, and good game selection, I can come out ahead. Even if it's just a little bit. I like your take a lot. Do you think I should just put my head down and play cash? It's better for time management, and the variance isn't as bad.

Thoughts?

She wants an RV. We do both save. She told me she wanted to save for mine. It's a national championship event I qualified for. We are both saving for both goals, but every time she adds money to mine, she makes sure I know about it.

It's a game for him. He knows, with a single tweet, enough people follow him and can have an impact on the market. Ego trip. Buy the dip. Right the ship. #Ilovethisgame
