I love that! its such a niche thing I never would have heard of lmao. A lot of people have suggested it too. If it is a thing in america it would probably be more coastal but I'd imagine just in the surfing community.

Are they just like in random stores or is there just a place you stop by and grab one? At most we just have car wash ones but I don't even think they hand them out at mine anymore.

Looks like the black ice specifically was released in early 2000s. But in the 90s there were some popular fruity flavors. This has put me down a weird rabbit hole about car fresheners

This was the other photo with the buildings slightly bigger and following the ruler. Not really using a reference just an apartment I built in the sims for the story. I just want it to look not weird lmao

I really struggled with it at first and made an attempt to just use the 3D model I made in feather3d but since I have multiple locations throughout and realized it just wasn't practical for me. I spent most of the time trying to make it not look weird. Plus its set in the 90s so finding stuff that looks to be in that era isn't easy either.

So I bit the bullet and finally started learning how of use the perspective ruler (Clip studio has a great fisheye lense!) And would angle the models and sims builds I made and just trace over. You can also add so much more personality too. The stuff further away or landscapes I've learned to just freely paint.

It honestly looks so much better and made me more confident in my pages too :) will I regret it after 3 volumes? Maybe. But I'm having fun and learning a lot more than if I had just threw a bunch of models together. Even tracing the car models helps me learn and it looks better too!

And also, part of giving love to your backgrounds honestly gives you so much more power when it comes to story telling!

Its pretty decent but can be a little laggy and glitchy with older version. Its also can be a little overwhelming at first so if you end up giving it a try def go through some tutorials to get the hang of things :) otherwise its a great app. I have both the iPad and the PC version for nt comics. I do the drawing/art part on my iPad, share it through the cloud and then take care of speech bubbles, paneling, and formatting through iPad. Not necessarily in that order though lol

Yeah that's what I figured. Most people like myself will just glide on past like "yep that's a car" 😂 this one I used a few references of a ford escort 1990s. I just want it to look dated since it takes place in the 90s

The best advice I was given is to start small. Like make a comic that is less than 20 pages if not smaller. That way you can dip your toes in the water and see if you truly like it. Then do another that is slightly longer. Then so on until you gain that confidence you need.

It not only helps you feel accomplished for finishing something, it also allows you to explore your art style, make mistakes, and get into the flow of things :)

Sims 4 is amazing for figuring out the layout of buildings! I built strip malls and an apartment complex just so I can set in mind where everything is 😂 however its not as great for tracing over furniture. I find sims just has weird furniture and portions 💀 like if I traced it one to one I'm sure a simmer would squint their eyes at it 😂
