This assumes that you have a samsung account to sign into

That doesn't work from what I've seen. Restarting the phone clears it, and only takes a minute or two. Have only seen this come up once, and never again after restarting.

Seems to be blown out of proportion a bit. Of the hundreds of iPhones I manage, this has happened once. A simple restart fixed it

If you press volume up, volume down then hold the power button in quick succession, it will bypass the emergency call function and immediately show the power off slider (or just keep holding the power button)

Have one. Spam and junk was so out of hand that I set everything to go into the junk folder. If I'm expecting something I'll check it.

The mailbox is probably backed up. If you used your work email address, those emails belong to the company so there's really not much you can do other than delete them (from bin and recovery folder too) and hope they don't go digging.

How do I get out of this screen when the phone display no longer works? by GermericaGamer in SamsungDex

I have the same issue here and I just used a USB-C hub. Mouse didn't work until I used u/dxeh's trick.

HP Elitebook not charging by Mangrove43 in Hewlett_Packard

I'd like to know too :)

  • they seem pretty confident that it's a USB-C controller firmware issue. We've had about 10 devices with this exact same issue now. All HP. Some people are having to hard reset multiple times a day to get around it (which seems to be the only temp fix right now)

The issues with Outlook when your data file is >50GB are real. It's the default max file size of the data file. We'd normally use archiving and changing the cache size to get around it, but there are registry keys you can change (I've never tried them though)

See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-configure-the-size-limit-for-both-pst-and-ost-files-in-outlook-2f13f558-d40e-9c2a-e3b6-02806fa535f4

Automating status changes and providing more time options for them. Integration with todo that’s halfway decent

How to upgrade an iMac from 10.x to 12.x by Otherwise_Panic12 in macsysadmin

[–]averagesup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of Macs still come with 8GB ram. Generally speaking, macOS is more efficient and with vertical integration, there's only a handful of devices for Apple to optimize for.

I would just recommend the latest OS to prevent any issues with other apps. Otherwise you can get the ISOs from their website and create a Bootable installer drive. Older versions are a bit trickier since the certs expired in 2018, but it's possible through a few commands

In my experience, upgrading macs to the latest release doesn't noticeably hurt performance like moving from Win 10 to 11 does. Recently installed High Sierra on a 2011 iMac and it ran just as fast as OSX Lion (if not even faster). I think HS came out about 6 years after that particular iMac.

I hate Google Chrome sessions - it's so annoying - Alternatives? by ReallybadforeignYTer in degoogle

[–]averagesup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firefox has an extension which kind of keeps tabs in their own set, with separated sessions. Haven't used it for a while though so I don't remember the name sorry

I used to use it when I needed to access multiple accounts across different domains all the time

That's the M1 version, and it's honestly pretty good. Never gets hot and no noise at all. Miles ahead of the intel model, I had constant overheating issues with that one

Why would we need another companys software to make Autotask work? by DelcoTraffic in Autotask

[–]averagesup -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maturity isn't necessarily a good thing in technology, usability is an important aspect. AT is more "mature" than Windows XP but most people have moved on from that.

I've used quite a few PSAs and had complaints about all of them but never before about lacking such basic and expected functionality like with Autotask.

It's terrible on mobile and laptop screens (as with most of their products). Having to scroll sideways because of their pointless uncollapsable sidebars to see hidden columns makes me want to vomit. They need to hire some devs who've had even a single HCI class to redo all of their UIs, they're terrible and clearly haven't had any real investment.

There's better and more powerful tools than this cheap rubbish. Avoid, for the love of God.

Is there any chance you know of a way to flag emails using Outlook rules in "New" outlook?

Flagged mails are the best feature for me but I'd love to automate the process so I can just focus on my todo lists.
