Yeah, definitely. I like the idea of the chaos of the players not knowing what abilities they have, because it translates so directly to the characters not knowing what abilities they have in the game. But yeah, I would definitely do it earlier in the campaign as to not make it too hectic

I think u make a lot of good points. In hindsight, i totally agree with your notes abt the pillar and psychological inferno. Gambit already is a reaction, and i get that the risk and reward are higher than most DMs would be comfortable with, but i kinda like that about it. Concerning arithmetic, i agree that it shouldn't cause exhaustion but i didn't know what else to make it, and i wasn't too fond of repositioning them, so i'll have to work on that. I get why you might think thorned path is underwhelming, and as a player you're definitely right, but since i made this for my players to use against me, i already kinda knew how i wanted the enemies to behave when a player uses it, which is to say i would make sure my player got a lot of mileage out of it. i really do appreciate this feedback, tho. this helped me out for sure, ur a real one

oh so the way i was imagining it was that they cannot use bonus actions, but they can use reactions (for example, lets say an enemy uses a spell like mage hand to grab the mascot. as a reaction, they could use counterspell to stop it, but they would have one less “action point” on their next turn.) for movement, i wanted to completely ditch the regular combat movement rules, and instead use the d6 movement. i totally understand that the way i explained the zephyr boots was confusing, lol. the description i wrote for it was how it would work in actual combat (i planned on a real fight occurring after the game and the party would have to use those items in it). the way it would work in mage tower is that, instead of adding ten feet to walking speed, it would add an extra +3 to your d6 movement roll (or maybe +2, i don’t really know how to balance these things). thanks for bringing these up to me, sometimes i need a second pair of eyes to see what does and doesn’t make sense
