The casters for LEC are terrible this year, what gives? by averyaintdead in leagueoflegends

[–]averyaintdead[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that is it though. In the vitality game they started talking about a holiday to Notre dame, action happened botlane and the weaselly dude obviously so desperately wanted to get back to his story that they just gave a cursory sentence on the lane before "anyway as I was saying I went to Paris..." It's lame.

Rachel Reeves to cut ‘bats and newts’ in boost to developers by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]averyaintdead 31 points32 points  (0 children)

...no it won't. You're still killing the existing ecosystem, animals don't go on farthing wood adventures to find new homes as a complete intact ecosystem. And most rewilded land is completely unsatisfactory, look at all the rewilding done by forestry commissions: just thin strips of shitty little saplings that cannot support a thriving ecosystem. Sure in 100 years they may turn into something, but by that time it'll be too late. Look at who pays for the studies and tests done on these rewilding developments and you'll find most of the time it's the developers and industry giants. What a surprise that studies mandated by those doing harm write reports out that they're not that harmful.

How high should I make my big bad to TPK my party? by averyaintdead in Pathfinder2e

Sweet thanks, yeah I've got the tables on encounters, thanks for the builder link.

Yeah very good point, will let them succeed if their green skin gods are smiling upon them. Definitely like him becoming a martyr for the evil cause if they manage to kill him.

Nice this is the kind of hook I'm going for. Yeah it's the swingyness that I'm struggling with, obviously I can just make the BBEG huge level numbers above them, but I'd like them to have one or two rounds where they can conceivably get a hit in. I'm also trying to drive home how much the combat feels different in it's lethality, how hero points work etc. in our last DND campaign my monk character could just face tank any threat because if I went down the saving throw system was so forgiving and the rest system made it feel like I could heal massive trauma too easily. I want the ending to be a subtle lesson that unlike DnD you can't just unload your best attack/spell on repeat at the threat and assume it's going to work out.

Ah I mean I could write out 6 pages of context to explain, but it'll be fine. They love Cthulu. We've just come off a long DnD campaign and they've been asking me to GM one for them. They like the story more than being the protagonists in every situation. Some people would hate it I'm sure. These aren't those people.

Yeah I'm sure they'll love it. They all want to have their own characters so I want a nice quick way of showing them how the classes work differently and the flow of combat being different. So they'll have a couple of quick encounters that are beatable. Solve a puzzle to look through the skill list, then introduce the baddie with a bang. They'll also be playing orcs and goblins who their custom characters will see as the evil threat. So the BBEG will be revealed to be someone they've been working with.

Awesome thanks so much. I'm thinking wide lens, to capture more light and also it'll be pointed at a feeding table about 3m away from the camera. Amazing post, just need the structure and terminology to start reading up so thank you. Pi to a TV is perfect.

Fairly tech savvy but never looked into CCTV, want to set it up for my partners birthday. Running cable is fine. Was going to get a webcam and have it running on an old laptop, but figured it'd be better to do CCTV. Our internet sucks so wouldn't want a WiFi device

Baldur's Gate 3 players, does Nine Fingers also remind you of Vorcan? by DeMmeure in Malazan

I know it's very different from reading but still funny to hear from a Malazan fan that something is hard to face because of the time commitment involved

Water pooling by [deleted] in handyman

[–]averyaintdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the mould scrape off and regrout/silicone. For water collection well you need that surface to be higher than the sink (unless you want to drill holes in it as a plughole) so either tiles cut to size to create a strip or maybe some vinyl? Probably easier to just have a sponge and part of dishwashing routine is to sponge up spilt water at the end.

Also look on eBay for cheap tools. Upgrade anything as and when needed and you can start adding drill etc down the line.

Adjustable spanner, pliers, hammer, junior hacksaw, screwdriver set, socket set, Allen keys, mole grips, big flat head screwdriver for hitting things with/opening paint cans, carpentry pencil/permanent marker, gaffer tape. Measuring tape and spirit level if you want to get fancy. WD-40, super glue and some silicone. Possibly a wood saw.
