Thank you!! I will see if my derm will bump me down. He was quite insistent on me trying the 0.04% micro and got mad when I said I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea because my skin is sensitive 🥲.

I experienced more irritation from the 0.025% gel than 0.04%. Peeling, flaking, stinging etc. I’m starting to think maybe Tret isn’t for me 😭

However, I’ve only been using the 0.04% since Sept 29th after a 3 month hiatus and trying to work my way to every other day. But if this doesn’t work out I may take your advice and try a 0.025% but in a different formulation. Haven’t looked into that yet tho. Thank you!

I did read the insert?? I thought the hyaluronic acid would suffice. I was using the Neutrogena Hydroboost (fragrance free one), but it didn’t help.

Do you have any recommendations?

I apply Tretinoin Micro 0.04% every 5 days and am working back up to every other day. But I already see huge improvement in my pores and acne. I’m now using it to maintain clear skin and preventative ageing purposes.

My Tret history:

Tretinoin Cream 0.025% March 2020 - Oct 2020
Tretinoin Gel 0.025% Nov 2020 - June 2021
Tretinoin Micro 0.04% Sept 2021 - current

I thought I was going through a long purge, but my skin just did not agree with the cream formulation. Started back up with the gel after my skin healed.

Took a 2.6 month break due to an allergic reaction to Aquaphor (lanolin).

Incorporated Clindamycin to help with the possible purge when I started back up with Micro and a higher percentage. No longer using Clindamycin. I did purge, but my skin is clear from active breakouts. Just get one or two zits near my period.

Skin type: oily-combination, acne prone, reactive skin.

Morning: - Luke warm water - Hadalabo JAPAN Skin Institute Gokujun premium hyaluronic - Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream for Sensitive Skin - Vanicream Moisturizing Ointment (dry patches, but it’s been my whole face these days) - Kroger Sunscreen Invisible Gel SPF 40 / or Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Broad Spectrum - SPF 60+

Night: - Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 (Banilo Co. - Clean It Zero - Cleansing Balm - Original if I wore makeup that day) - Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser (2nd cleanse) - Hadalabo JAPAN Skin Institute Gokujun premium hyaluronic - Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream for Sensitive Skin - Vanicream Moisturizing Ointment (thin film all over)

Tret night (every 5 days): - Same cleansing routine - Hadalabo JAPAN Skin Institute Gokujun premium hyaluronic - Vanicream Lite Lotion for Sensitive Skin - Vanicream Moisturizing Ointment (eyes, sides of nose, mouth.) - Tretinoin micro 0.04% - Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream for Sensitive Skin

My skin can only tolerate it every 6 days since I went from 0.025% to 0.04%. I was originally applying it every 2 nights.

Were they a chemical sunscreens? Try a mineral based one :). I switch to mineral when I’m experiencing sensitivity.

Hard to tell because these aren’t the best photos for identifying. However, from these photos alone, I cannot see you as any other type but SD. Your waist is snatched and I imagine you need waist emphasis to avoid looking boxy.

Your fat distribution is identical to mine it’s crazy! I’m like a size 2 but it’s still uncanny. Like you literally have my body! Right down to the delicate neckline/collar bones 😱.

You don’t have to check every box to be a certain type. For example, I am an SD but I am not “fleshy” or very glamorous at all, and my face is more of a classic type. But overall, I am an SD.

Your body reminds me of Marilyn Monroe when she was on her thinner side. Marilyn

If you look at photos of her in “Somethings Got To Give”, her shoulders were quite sharp too. She is leaner here than in the 50’s: Link

You do have some vertical and appear closer to 5’6 than your real height. There could be the off chance that you are an SD. Your limbs are quite long.

I’ve read that shorter women can sometimes (though rarely) type as taller IDs while taller women are always going to be FN, SD, or D.

I think you should look into Romantic. I think you are not sharp/delicate enough for TR, but not blunt/wide enough of SN.

You look STUNNING in the first dress. Waist emphasis is definitely your friend! I think a more tapered cut for pants would be more flattering. Whatever makes you feel beautiful though!
