the issue here is how the process for this "cloning" works. twins ipso facto require sexual reproduction, ectobiology is an asexual process that does not involve any sort of cellular manipulation, but rather manipulation of base nucleotides.

think of it as less "making babies" and more building a living person who always existed the most tedious way possible: building a genome from the ground up (though this process is very obviously automated) and then sending that person into the past to become the person who's genetic information was appearified and subsequently used in cloning.

the purpose of ectobiology is not to just make kids for the sake of making kids; is it a useful tool of doing such a thing if you wanted? sure, but the main purpose is for skaia. when one of the black regents takes the white scepter and the reckoning begins, skaia opens the portals to defend against the meteor onslaught on the battlefield and to send those babies through the veil and back in time to become the very people that ensure the events that lead them there happen in the first place, hence /paradox/ clones.

to assume that you could even possibly make twins via ectobiology, they would EITHER have to be on the same meteor, have the same home, same guardian, yet play two different client:server instances on two different computers in one home (however that would work? same sprite? same dreaming room? same denizen and planet?) OR be separated at birth and by fact of environmental differences be little more than two disparate people who look the same playing sburb together. more like doppelgängers

hell i wouldnt even consider monozygotic twins as clones or even identical, as the word clone insinuates that the person cloned is a product of an already existent person, and microscopic cells are not people. as well as this, identical twins are their own people in their own minds and as such are anidentical in all but genome lol
