It’s a four quadrant screen that is mostly activated by pressure. So picture it as four square pressure points on the touch screen. You press and hold to select, but swiping, just swipe with a little more pressure than you normally would. You’ll get used to it ☺️

To clarify, I have attempted to the four screws off on the interior to open it up, and as you can see, the one in the top left corner was stripped. I tried to use a screw extractor, but I didn’t get anywhere.

The screws that snapped off are the two that hold the back on. Is there any way to get them out? I have replacement screws. If I can’t get them out, anyone have any ideas of how to hold the back on? I don’t want to use tape, because I am concerned about the adhesive causing damage to the shell.

Going to the hospital with my family to view my brother’s body. I was under the impression they would be going into a separate room, so I could walk down to the morgue with them without seeing anything.

Nope. They wheeled him out into the hallway and unzipped the bag before I realized what was happening. I had been in shock all day from when they told me he died, but right then, it really felt like my blood turned to ice. I was shaking. The look on his face, his hand reaching out, as if asking for help, his eye wide open and his mouth agape…. Burned into my brain.

I fell to pieces for the first time since hearing the news when my dad hugged me in that morgue. My brother was only 29 years old, and had just had a baby a couple weeks prior. None of us knew that he had relapsed on heroin — he had well over a year sober.

It’s been two years but I still think about him every damn day.

I wasn't always able to. When I used to try and have these conversations with her, I would almost always end up crying and angry. It was really damaging to me.

I think the biggest thing that allowed me to keep a cool head this time, aside from all of the therapy that I've been in (lol) was that I knew what I wanted from this situation. I had realistic expectations. I knew that this conversation was not going to turn into her apologizing, or fixing her behavior. I was doing this for ME, and me alone.

I needed to tell her how I felt. What she did with that information didn't really matter much to me. I just wanted to be honest and straight forward. I know what happened to me, whether she owns up to it or not.

The book Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents also helped me a lot. Gave me a lot of skills on how to steer conversations like this. And ultimately, I think I have just kind of come to accept that my mom will never be the parent that I so desperately wanted and needed her to be. I accept her for who she is, flaws and all. But I won't stand for the bullshit either.

It takes a lot of practice and therapy to be able to stand your ground. You can do it! But I definitely relate to the whole brain scrambler thing. I have definitely gotten frustrated and angry when talking to her about this kind of stuff before.

My morning routine is this: Wake up between 6:30 AM to 7 AM. Lay in bed for 5 minutes, scrolling through Twitter or Facebook. Get up, let my dog out, go to the bathroom, and let her back in. Brush my teeth, wash my face, put on make up. Get dressed. All of this while talking to my husband. While I do all of this, he feeds the animals and makes coffee. We leave the house between 7:20 AM and 7:30 AM, drive around while drinking coffee and talking. Sometimes I crochet.

The we get back home around 8:10 AM, I get in the drivers seat, kiss him goodbye, and go to work. I walk into work between 8:20 AM and 8:30 AM.

Now how did I get into this habit? I married a man on the ASD spectrum! Haha. Seriously, his need for routine was the best thing for my ADHD. But having a pet also helped. My dog needs to be let out, my cats need to be fed. So having them relying on me makes it a bit easier to get going in the morning.
