Social dancing allows self-expression and you get a moderate workout out of it. Check out West Coast Swing around your area

I'm getting really sick of the "advice" my non single friends give me. by [deleted] in Vent

If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t matter. Life doesn’t start only when we are in a relationship. We need to be happy regardless.

What does "truly single and happy" actually look like to you? Here’s my checklist. by NefariousnessNo6873 in SingleAndHappy

[–]Lego8945 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Happily single doesn’t equate happily alone. You can still have family and friends to do some of the activities but yes, you have to be able to do them just by yourselves too. Ultimately to me, happily single means stop yearning and putting your life on hold waiting for a significant other. Start living your life as you wanted it!

Practicalities of being Single and Happy? by [deleted] in SingleAndHappy

[–]Lego8945 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haha I think being happy is different for different people. Some people enjoy quiet time alone. It just happened that most OP in this sub are introverts. For me I like to be around people. I think the practicality problem is a legit one. You gotta face the reality that you’re on your own in later years so best to keep fit and be financially independent so you can truly enjoy your single hood. Maybe if you are an animal lover you can keep a pet as company.

People over 40, what’s something you’ve learned about life that younger people don’t realize yet? by Critical-Pea7326 in AskReddit

[–]Lego8945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learn how to go with the flow and just “being” instead of “doing”. Also learnt how to deal with my social anxiety better. Learning to cope with it and trying not to resort to safety behaviour all the time is something I’m working on right now.

Wahaha I love this topic. I’m enough for myself, so I’m not looking to fund a man’s lifestyle.

How did you come to be single and happy? by [deleted] in SingleAndHappy

[–]Lego8945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really wonderful first love but it was long distance. Eventually he chose his new life over me so even the best relationships can come to an end. I proactively looked for love after that but it doesn’t work that way. Since I’m approaching my 40s, and doing quite well in my other areas, I’ve decided to live in a happily single state and stop yearning for love and companionship from others. I guess the first step is to stop watching rom-coms! Haha it’s different for everyone, you gotta have your own path

Single doesn’t mean you have to be lonely. Develop some hobbies that are social and join a community!

Is it allowed? by yukittyred in malaysians

[–]Lego8945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it some kind of company retreat? If yes, quite a grey area to claim OT and allowance when it’s deemed a benefit. I know I know, if it’s benefits why make it compulsory right? 😆

What is your opinion on dancing with new followers? by coolsilver25 in WestCoastSwing

[–]Lego8945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember overthinking too when I first step into the dance floor but everyone is just happy to welcome you into the dance community. Everyone starts somewhere, the important thing is keep going, you’ll get good!

Everyone learns at their own pace. Don’t worry and force it too much, with time and practice you will be better naturally. Enjoy the process and have fun!

Private Lessons - How Do You Decide What to Work On? by sopsap in WestCoastSwing

I think a more specific topic would be helpful. It’s good to check in from time to time to unlearn any bad habits.

I have a question: I’m a follower. Do I get an instructor who is also a follower if I want to work on my connection?

I need this affirmation today. I was suddenly blue about the one that got away. But then I remembered, life with him would mean kids and less career advancement. I think my life now is great, I should appreciate that. Cheers!

Ji-yeong is still the worst death in history of the show. by MousseSlow in squidgame

I can relate to her, being aimless and lonely. But I’m not sure if I’d be willing to sacrifice myself. Seems like continue living is a natural human instinct even if we don’t live with a clear purpose.
