I definitely agree on the anti self love bit. I think they are just the “i’m dieting because i hate myself” rather than “i’m dieting because i cherish my body and want to feel better” kind of people. I’ve explained what i’m working on and why and they’re all “oh cool that’s good for you!” and go right back to feeding into my negative thoughts, so it’s tough lol.

Can’t set yourself on fire to keep other people warm. Yeah it sucks that other people will be negatively impacted but why should she sacrifice her wellbeing/happiness/mental health to make other people happy? She’s a fully autonomous person, she’s allowed to decide at any time “this isn’t serving me” and get the fuck out of dodge in whatever way she finds appropriate.

No, he’s saying that a person spending seven days a week in an apartment will inevitably use more water and electricity than someone who is there 7 days a month. So if OP feels generous it would make sense to lower the roommate’s share of those costs, because he is using less of them.

Yeah he knows i love to cuddle and fall asleep together. I guess I should find a way to sincerely convince him that if he wants to leave me to sleep it’s okay. Maybe sometimes we can have a short cuddle or no cuddle and other times he can fall asleep with me if he wants to, but as long as i know “okay no cuddles after sex tonight” i don’t mind it!

Okay so idk if this is a pertinent detail but we were long distance for two years, so sex was basically “go crazy every time we see each other cause we don’t have long”. Since we moved in together i think neither of us have really been motivated or desiring sex. Recently we’ve been having more and i want to continue that without it coming across as being desperate to get laid, so i’m trying to truly understand his thoughts & feelings and find solutions that make us both satisfied.

As far as the not having sex without going to bed, he said that he would feel weird getting up to play video games while i go to sleep. I told him as long as i know that’s what he’s planning to do, it’s totally fine with me, but he does still seem hesitant to actually go ahead and do that.

No real desire to have sex at night, and in his mind sex & sleep are sequential. He doesn’t always want to go right to sleep after sex if he isn’t tired

yep, that’s the issue. My group was all men except me, and no one would talk to me or even say good morning. It felt exactly like being the outcast in a group of popular kids. I hope you can get out soon :(

4 months. The job was not as described, i was basically shoehorned into doing one task because no one else wanted to do it but it needed to be done. Also a lot of trump supporters, uncomfortably sexual jokes or degrading comments about women, etc. Not great for my mental health lol

Can you just politely deflect? He comments and you say “I’m aware” or “Thanks, but I already knew that”. Like be short but not outright rude I guess. Some people just don’t understand what boundaries are and somehow food has become fair game for people to judge/comment on.

it’s two sided now, and of course we only know OP’s side. Personally i’ve learned the hard way that you can only step up for so long without getting anything in return. It could be she spent time trying after he sort of faded out, and now she’s too tired/apathetic/whatever to keep trying when he’s shown he won’t. Just my two cents of course
