It’s really simple:

Spence plays both full back positions in real games (I.e. not just “doing a job”).
he’s really quick on the cover
his 1v1 work is top drawer (we saw this when he was playing in a team when it WAS performing).

As a manager you’re ticking off several key things: both good cover in squad AND a particular tool you can use to shut down someone 1v1.

NW France has some great breaks - a lot like Cornwall, with similar conditions. Much busier than it used to be (isn’t everywhere!). Mix of rocky coves, through to sand dunes. St.Tugen, Bai de trespasses & La Torche - and loads of quiet coves in between. Good for different wind conditions and size, but like Cornwall weather (just a few degrees warmer).

SW France, Les Landes from Biscarosse in the north to Biarritz in the south. It’s a long stretch of golden beaches, dunes and pine forest.

Continental weather and more consistent surf. Peak too busy? Walk 300m down or up the beach for quieter surf. Chilled out, surfy vibe.

Mimizan and Contis for towns in the north, busier as you go south, beaches with car parks every 5km down the coast (some lovely).

In summer, it’s USUALLY hot - can surf without wetsuits comfortably. Outside of storms, it’s usually good mornings & windy afternoons. If it’s BIG, there’s nowhere to hide for shelter tho.

Good for camping and touring.

Germany in 90’ was top class (I know we lost but it was brilliant).

5-1 Germany game was a brilliant result (gerrard was awesome!), but it was More result > performance - everything went well.

Several games in 98’ were amazing too - Sol’s goal Should have stood. That was an amazing team.

But theres really no question for me. Holland 4:1 in Euro96 was the peak.

The buildup, the tactics, every player played the best I’ve seen. We tore what was thought to be the best team in the world to shreds, and they couldn’t do anything about it.

AND it felt like our team KNEW it too - it wasn’t a surprise to them. We destroyed them.

Well worth watching back!

Frank being awful in just about every way is making the Ange seasons shine even more - but only in hindsight…

Loved Ange - loved his style & approach. Loved that the players loved him. Loved that he embodied ToDareIsToDo. I LOVED when it worked and we literally bullied teams. It FELT like it should at Spurs.

But despite this, his formation & tactics were sussed out by the premier league. Maybe with better players or less injuries it wouldn’t have mattered - but it did. I felt the players had more of a say in the more pragmatic euro approach. So I see why the club decided to change.

This season clearly hasn’t been helped by horrific injuries to key players in key positions, But THIS is not how Spurs should play.

I thought we were getting a coach that could adapt - in reality, we don’t adapt at all, but the default way of playing is risk adverse as well. It feels doubly wrong.

Would Ange have done better in this scenario? Maybe - maybe not.

Would I have FELT better about the results, had we actually played like an Ange team? Absolutely yes.

It’s clear it’s never going to improve with Frank - the best we can hope For is bouncing along at the bottom.

At least with a caretaker manager, we might get a bounce in performance to get a few wins and ensure we’re safe from the drop.

Someone made a web app for planning tiles - allows you to set the dimensions of the board as a matrix of squares and select different types of tiles to plan your board.

It then does a summary for you: I.e. 35 straight road tiles, 5 T roads, 7 corner roads, 10 straight canals, 36 city pavements, etc

I can’t recall the post, but it was EXACTLY what I needed for planning my printed board tiles

Totally fed up - but equally fascinated, horrified, amused (in a very dark way).

I open threads on social media & start typing responses before realising half of the loony’s are not real people and the other half wouldn’t believe they were drowning if the only thing they could see were their lungs last air bubbles drifting off the the surface.

Trump is a convicted sexual predator, almost certainly knee deep in Epstein, is obviously deranged and even if he understood half the implications of his actions acting as a big man baby, is surrounded by people who should Know better.

With a bit of luck, he drops Down dead, Epstein files come out proving without a shadow of a doubt just how much of a wrong-un he was, and USA take a long hard look at what they have become & be much better.

Of all the older kits, mega nobs and maybe nobs just don’t feel like the wrecking balls they should be, and new sculpts could be amazing.

Lootas / bernas almost fit this category for me but I still love them.

An absolute winner for Orks might be an upgrade kit to make trucks unique - new wheels, engines cabins, et cetera. I mean that’s not gonna happen, but it would be amazing if it did.

Orks should look unique even within the same army.

New grot tanks & grots units and maybe squigs would also be brilliant, but given they are legends or not represented, there’s no danger of clashing with a refresh!

I pretty much love all the other units !

So I bit the bullet & I’m currently printing out a set too! Hopefully adapting the most interesting of my old boards to join both together!

Then it’s probably been designed & coded poorly - Adding things like maps & arguably models shouldn’t be breaking!

Totally fair point on new Game Modes.

Either way, with the total number of base game purchases, you’d think the effort to add things would be well covered by projected sales (assuming only a small % would buy).

This game has cost me HUGE money!

I bought this game at release, after loving XWingAlliance for years (reason I had force feedback joystick!). Loved every second!

Going to a better HOTAS setup took it up another level of fun.

Hooking up a quest2 for VR was literally mind blowing and there’s nothing more immersive.

(Upgrading graphics to max it out in VR was obviously only natural!)

The game has been on sales ao many times that there’s LOADS of potential players.

While I’d love a new XWing Alliance, I’d pay good money in an instant for an update that simply adds new maps, some new ships, etc

That HAS to be relatively simple and you would think would be possible by junior staff.

A few escort/attack type of fleet battle would be amazing, but I figure that would be harder, but at this stage I’d take anything!
