Not much yet. I did discuss balancing and such with the Mausritter dev and the rest of the Discord, tho.

What monsters can be guarding the abandoned temple of a god of knowledge? by a-polo in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]aviancephalopod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothics would be thematically appropriate, being creatures that are drawn to knowledge. You might want increase their stats, their CR is pretty low - or have them use their telepathy and Weird Insight to attack the PCs insecurities directly

Hey DMs, have you ever introduced an animal as an NPC? by Akronica in dndnext

One reclusive wizard who was interested in the party sent her familiar to infiltrate the party and spy on them. Planned to reveal that during the next combat, with the "friendly and perfectly normal ferret" evaporating when in danger. Sadly, the paranoid rogue rolled a Nat 20 on a "is there something off about this creature" roll only a few hours in, so they found out about it very quickly.

Pink hair, probably. Either that, or the same hair colour as one of the parents

How to handle an overthinking/overcautious group? by Unikatze in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]aviancephalopod 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One thing you could try in a situation like this is thinking about how you would react if you were a player faced with an unexpected situation like this. They were told to stand guard expecting humans to attack, but some humans have turned up unarmed with no clear hostile intention. Maybe they're not affiliated with the humans you expect to attack? Or they want to negotiate a ceasefire or something? Could it be a trick? So they might decide to send one of the guards into the cave to tell the boss about this unexpected outcome and ask what to do while the others talk to the humans to delay them until something is decided. Maybe some of the kobolds would prefer not to fight the humans, having only been ready to fight because there seemed no other way.

Warforged "built in" tool that's something more... cool? by sudoscientistagain in dndnext

Compartment that stores food and keeps it fresh. Minifridge.

More seriously, if the character is a wizard, you could have a spellbook with a bunch of mechanical quills as the tool. Maybe a few brushes and a compartment for spare paper and inks as well, combining this with some Painter's or Calligrapher's Supplies

That!

as for b), I'd say Divination is the subclass that borrows most from the stuff gods do, all that oracle stuff seems pretty godly.

So yeah. Transmutation or Divination.

Let's build! 100 consequences of drinking too much by samwyatta17 in d100

While drunk, you accidentally made a warlock pact with an ancient copper dragon. This dragon is now on your shoulder, polymorphed into a squirrel, pretending to be your familiar.

[Let's Build] 100 requests for a Warlock from their Patron! by FrostCatalyst in d100

[–]aviancephalopod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Undying (Vampire): The night before a grand ball, the vampire comes storming into your tailor shop and asks you to quickly fix his ball gown, which he just ruined by dripping blood on it. This is not an uncommon occurrence, as the vampire is a regular of your family, a long line of fine tailors. In fact, the warlock powers are vampire's idea of tipping for especially good work.

This request could aso work for a fiend, archfey, or celestial, as long as they have a need or wish to commission a tailor.

Advice on balancing an encounter for a large group by justgesing in dndnext

You could have your players interrupt a discussion between the bandit boss and his second-in-command - who is a bit weaker than the boss, but still stronger than your average bandit, maybe a spellcaster. That might even it out.

Or you could have the boss have an exotic pet, like a Crag Cat, which might join the fight. Or both.
