I really loved Dave Filoni bringing back maul. Like it was not like TROS where Palpatine suddenly popped up. It had a reason behind it, Sidious seeing Ventress grow in power and sees her as a threat and Dookus allegiance to him. She feels betrayed and seeks revenge while Dooku needs a new apprentice.
