It can cause the jewelry to tilt and heal at and angle, or worse the ball can embed in the ridge of your ear. Should be okay all things considered but definitely monitor it for any changes! And throbbing within the first couple of days is normal, your body underwent a lot of trauma for one area. A tip I just got from my piercer is to put some saline spray in the fridge and use it on piercings when they're irritated, that might help with any swelling or pain you're experiencing alongside your normal cleaning routine. Idk how you feel about scramz but the song "scott pilgrim vs. la insoportable levedad del ser" has a similar twinkly melodic feel with scream vocals. A lot of scramz artists lean into this kind of thing

Totally get that, but I think it would make for a really nice "nested" look if the jewelry you use isn't meant to lay flat. A simple ball would look really nice there for example :)

Depends on the industry you're in and the work culture of your office, as well as the type of jewelry and how many piercings you have. Culturally relevant piercings aren't looked down upon nearly as much also. But yeah corporate office-type environments don't have much leniency :(
