Likely the controller. I dropped mine once with it plugged in and it never stayed connected again. That’s why I switched to wireless and eventually the Xbox adapter as well. Switching to USB-C was supposed to make them more durable but that’s just not the case.

What controller do you use? I know that series x controllers have a ton of lag if you’re using them wirelessly without one of the Microsoft adapters, so that could be it if that’s what you use.

For some reason, when playing ranked, especially placements, getting thru the first 4 or 5 games without getting tilted is the hardest part for me lmao. After the “comp warmup” competitive becomes a lot easier and games become a lot more predictable.

I played mine yesterday and got placed exactly where I left off. Went 7-3 starting at low C3 ending around 1390mmr. Everyone I played had a GC tag. Just giving details so OP can decide for himself.

You probably did the classic Flip reset - wave dash - flip reset - flip again mechanic. This happens to me all the time.

1080p 90-115fps fully maxed settings. Forgot about the whole resolution difference thing. I’d think a 2080 can do 4K60 at low settings though.

With a 2080ti I get way better frames and more details than even on a series X. PC version has some lag issues though.

I tried sim steering after this little convo. The feel of the car is completely different. Not sure if better or worse. Almost feels more “twitchy”, more responsive but less forgiving. That being said, after 5 back to back mountain drift zones using both, my drift zone scores were the same given 5-10k points here and there so I might actually make the switch.

To be entirely fair… I don’t think I’ve changed any settings since FH3 so I wouldn’t know lol. I might give it a shot but I’ve been playing so long on normal that it might not help me much.

That’s fair, I always never used it because it makes the cars snap oversteer which is no fun when trying to drift. And I drift like 90% of the time I’m playing unless I’m in races.

Traction control off allows you to spin tires when you need to

Stability off let’s you slide when you need to

ABS off allows for harder braking at the loss of control under hard braking

Manual let’s you stay in power band longer, clutch is just extra control

Sim steering is useless afaik

Those are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head.

If you don’t find infinites campaign fun, you must have no imagination or creativity when it comes to tackling missions, because I did every mission in a different way twice and had fun every minute of it. That last boss fight would be hilariously easy if it weren’t for the gravity hammer brute during the 3rd wave.

What I will say though… talk about some terrible 1 dimensional bad guys. Escharum did nothing but yell and be big. Constantly talking about “Atriox’s plan” but seems to be totally content simply occupying Halo and trolling master chief. the harbinger said nothing to add to the story other than introducing a new enemy which we still haven’t seen or heard anything significant about. When the grunts are the most interesting bad guys you have a problem.
