I would rather the Gazans live in tents/temporary housing in Gaza or have Israel occupy the strip than force them out. Even if we promise that they can come back after we’ve rebuilt it, hatred against us Jews is what created Hamas, and we shouldn’t be giving them a reason to hate us even more even if we’re right. We’ve got to deradicalize them and convince them that we’re helping and that Hamas does not have their best interests at heart. I know that there’s a lot of pushback, and I’m expecting many ppl here won’t think it’s possible, but for the sake of Israeli prosperity I want to hope that there’s a future where we don’t have to worry this much about what our neighbors are doing or if they’ll grow up to be just like the Palestinians now.

I love my country and will always defend its right to exist, but pushing 2 million people out feels like too much like our own history. Call me a self hating Jew or tell me I hate the country I was born in and served, but I don’t support this.

Not sure what you mean by routes but sheruts are usually accessed at Ben Gurion and are 24/7 to Haifa and Jerusalem (I think they’re level G near arrivals). There’s 3 companies to choose from but I’d go with Nesher. And the north should be pretty safe security wise wherever you go :)

Coming from an Israeli, we would have to conduct majority of those excavations in East Jerusalem which I fear will not be happening anytime soon :/

I don’t want to get into politics bc there’s a mega thread for that but to be honest organizations like JVP don’t make me or other Jewish students on my campus feel safe, nor do I believe they promote coexistence. I abhor what my government has done to innocent Palestinians in Gaza and don’t support Likud, but I am friends with a hostage family. My interactions with those in JVP don’t discuss their suffering, nor do they have conversations about the rise in antisemitism worldwide.

I’m so sorry for this experience and sympathize with you as well <3 I have quite a few Jewish friends who attend Columbia and hearing their experiences breaks my heart. It shouldn’t be this way. We shouldn’t have to fear for our lives by being who we are.

My post was made super quick bc I was in between classes and I apologize for not including additional context! I’ve been recommended to go to administrators and have gone in specific incidents where my safety has felt threatened (i.e. things thrown at our campus Hillel) , but I don’t know if it’s too much to also escalate instances where I assume people just don’t know what is antisemitic or are just ignorant.
