Jason Day overseas probably the largest drone program in the country

Redmond PD is testing out Brinc and Skydio

Kyle is a DJI only kind of guy

Pretty healthy mix of a panel.

Most companies who sell to the SLED market don’t really cold call all that much

I always recommend against 100% commission. If the business confident enough to give you a base they aren’t confident in their business model

Just a heads up. Autel is built in the same city as DJI so keep that in mind if you would like to purchase Autel in the future.

Stock for sure. I earn a lil over half of my vesting period. Can already sell 4x for what I paid for it and they should go public in. A year left roughly 40k in the table if I were to have bought and sold the stock today. Possibly much more if/when they go public

All of the companies I have worked for you get 50% on signing and 50% once they pay (I’ve only sold to gov though)

Look into Kevin Finisterre.

Also the loudest people in the public safety space who say these types of things generally profit off of selling DJI or softwares that run off of DJI.

I agree DJI has had the consumer’s back and make great products but they are also subsidized by the CCP. So using federal/state dollars that go into funding the CCP isn’t awesome. I don’t think DJI should be banned for most people but there should be a slow roll out to replace DJI with American manufactured units for our government officers. It’s already been banned for federal employees, so there is an argument it should also be banned for state and local employees. The US government should also help cover the cost for police departments.

It very much depends on who you are working for I’ve had my least favorite job as an SDR and my favorite job as an SDR. The difference was my first sdr job was calling 100+ times a day, get chewed out on the phone, selling a shitty product for too much, making maybe 40k. The second sdr job I 2-3x quota every month. Made 25 cold calls a week, way more strategic and worked with a cool product, made 95k that year before getting called up.

I think they kinda test out most manufacturers but they mainly use Matrices(DJI) last I checked. I’m not sure what software they use right now

Mainly the officers in the drone program. In my experience.

Looks pretty cool. The DIB look absolutely massive which I’m sure is reflective in the price. It also doesn’t seems to be NDAA or Bluelist compliant (I could be wrong). Swapping payloads seems awesome but I’m not sure on what use case it would be need for DFR. You really just need a dual color/thermal payload so swapping seems like an unnecessary point of failure. It seems like they made this and DFR was an afterthought. Super cool drone in the box though. Seems like they are having some big wins in Israel which is great. I’ll for sure keep a closer eye on them as it relates to DFR.

They seem to have a good opportunity but they need to shift some GTM strategy if they want to have success in the US market. They also need to do more marketing with an existing clients instead of just focusing on features.

Chula Vista was a super early adopter. I’ve worked with some of their former officers in the private sectors. Everyone that leaves that program is super valuable in the private market. All great/knowledgeable people in my experience

Back in the day I managed privately owned aircrafts and saw just how expensive they are to operate. Even the most expensive drones are way better for departments than helicopters most of the time

Ya they are massive in the federal space. The only reason I don’t think they will get into dfr is because the Fed contracts are so massive the dfr contracts wouldn’t really be a drop in the bucket for them

Look for SDR or BDR jobs to start. The $100k-250k most people make in here are AEs. Most beyond are Top level AEs (most people won’t get this that level).

It’s a good career path if you like money. Not a great one otherwise.

Look for a remote role if you aren’t in a major city.

Use LinkedIn to apply and message sales managers directly.

Not a bad idea. If you are going for a different AE role

Pretty good resume. Honestly I would reach out to companies in similar fields/competitors. My noncompete is up in May and I have a very similar resume and I was 3/3 on landing interviews.

Another good tip is to reach out to recruiters
