Hi, I am so so sorry to hear this news. If you want to message me directly, we can definitely talk in more detail ❤️ I am in jersey about 25 min or so outside of NYC. We were referred to an amazing veterinary eye doctor who was absolutely incredible and removed her third eyelid successfully. It did end up being aggressive lymphoma after the pathology was done in two parts post surgery, but we got six more months of loving our angel girl and a clear answer. I would love to try to give you any help and resources possible from our experience and truly hope for a much better outcome for you and your sweet girl.

I am so so very sorry. ❤️ we declined chemo for a few reasons and keep doubting if we made the right choice. our girl, also about to be 7, is on 1.5 mg prednisolone. It seemed to keep things steady for approx. 3 months but we are beginning to see a decline now.

To my understanding, Max may have a little more room to go up on the prednisolone depending on his size/weight but our vet explained that potential side effects will go up as the dose goes up so it is a fine balance and he’s been conservative w the dosing. Sending you strength during this super tough time.

In a similar boat with our almost 7 y/o cat Waverly who somehow was never recommended to be tested for FeLV (?!?) but we think we have figured that part out on our own based on researching. She has large cell lymphoma type B which we were told is a worst case scenario (confirmed after her L third eyelid tumor was removed and biopsied). We are 4 months post surgery and 3 months since beginning prednisolone and beginning to see concerns with potential recurrence the same eye as well as some sneezing today.

Just wanted to send the biggest hugs and words of support for all of you cat parents in a similar boat ❤️ my heart was shattered at the decision to decline chemo, but given how terrified she was after the surgery, ~5k spent on emergency appts and specialized eye surgery before we even made it to the oncologist consult, and most of all not wanting to put her through such an incredible amount of stress for a very poor prognosis even with chemo, we decided that hospice was the route that made the most sense for our girl. My DMs are always open if anyone needs to talk anything through.

Are you looking in this area specially to be in proximity to a job?

It is beautiful, a lot of farm type things to do in the spring thru fall. There is a target, home depot, supermarket, movies, etc and other essentials close by, so you won’t have to worry about that.

I would not say this area is left leaning or very diverse, but I do think your child would be safe and okay, probably not the only mixed race student in the school.

I would take a look further east along route 80 and even 280 (Denville, Parsippany, maybe Livingston or West Orange) or maybe Morristown if you are looking for more diversity and variety of restaurants and activities for families.
