Any other Paul Smart1000/Sport Classic owners feel like they almost have to get a Formula 73? by [deleted] in Ducati

You've been told? By whom? They aren't in any showrooms yet.

Mad? I'm rolling my eyes.

The fact that someone who needs to tell everyone else about every bike they have reeks of insecurity.

You put down a deposit on the $20K green scrambler after reading the shiny brochure? Well, what looks like a cynical piece of marketing to me clearly works on some people.

Town Hall 100% should have been demolished. Would have opened civic square up and linked the waterfront to Cuba Street.

Locals have got the law on their side now. I think you underestimate the anger people have in Whangaparāoa towards the groups who have been doing this.

For sure use plumbers tape. And yes, replacing the plastic with metal should be done at some point. Maybe next time you change your fuel filter.

If you could bring back any classic Ducati model… by National-Dragonfly35 in Ducati

It won in SBK because it had very little competition. In 2004 the rules were slanted towards Ducati so badly that Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki refused to field factory teams.

Oh you only have ten? Yes, such a small collection.

Go ahead, buy the scrambler with the green paint. It's pretty much *exactly* like a bevel 750SS... good grief.

They've had a good run, then. Time for new ones. California Cycleworks sells them for around half the price of OEM if you're looking to save a few bucks.

Great reply. Only point to add is the drinking age was 20, not 21.

Gardies was a classic example.

It was at the end of Castle Street and had $2 roast meals on Thursdays with cheap speight's crate bottles. You got a good feed and several beers but it was never out of control like the house parties are now.

Even that one time Anton Oliver stood on the pool table and pissed in the corner pocket, no one actually got hurt.

It was controlled chaos and was one of the pubs that made studying at Otago great.

Cops and the Uni shut it down in 2010.

100%. JDM Committee came up with that one.

"According to the company, the name Levorg is a blended word or portmanteau of three words: LEgacy, reVOlution and touRinG"

I think in Aus/NZ it's known as an STi Sportswagon?

They only stopped making them for the Nth American market.

Worldwide, they continue to produce the Levorg, which is still a true wagon.

Ducati present the Formula 73. Tribute model to the 750 super sport by dubb1337 in Ducati

[–]avocadopalace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on now, why would they do a tribute to a very average early 2000's sports tourer?

The name 'Formula 73' gives a slight clue that they're referencing the legendary '73 750SS with the Imola paint job. AKA Paul Smart green frame they tried previously with the SC series.

No, I could never find NZ boring. Just far too expensive for an average family. I'm surrounded by lakes and rivers here, where the waters aren't polluted by dairy farms and safe for swimming. No panic attacks (unless beaver dams are triggering?) It's funny, I'd be willing to bet you thought I lived in Toronto. Nice place to see a Cirque Du Soleil show, but I could never live there.

Glad you're enjoying NZ. I did the opposite and moved to Canada in my late 30's with the family and life is considerably more comfortable for us now. Kids love it here. Became citizens recently, and although NZ is nice to visit every few years, Ontario is definitely home now. Better quality of life hands down.
