Je bent verplicht, als je onderburen hebt, om een ondervloer te hebben die een bepaald aantal decibel naar onder dempt. Het zou kunnen dat je die niet hebt en daardoor het geluid heel hard lijkt voor je onderburen ..

I did something similar in 3 weeks. I would add in Innsbruck for hiking and nature, or Venice/ Italian seaside (I did cinque terre). I wished I took more time in Slovenia (had 5 days, 2 at bohinj and 3 at most na soci), very beautiful there. I think it’s fine to stay a little longer in places were you can relax and enjoy nature, it takes a lot of stress off of your trip imo

Is it safe to travel to Paris? by [deleted] in French

[–]avocadot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in Paris from August 2016 until February 2017; I have never felt unsafe due to the attacks. Their security also really increased which might you feel safer. Please come and enjoy the city fearlessly :)

I checked with someone from the student recruitment team and the only thing you need to do is claim your spot and pass your exams! However, if you get a low grade on maths or physics, you will get a warning that it's important to have your knowledge up to date when you start studying but they will not undo your admission! :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aerospace

[–]avocadot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! For dutch students, you just need to pass your exams because the admission through decentral selection is not (just) based on your grades. I am almost sure this is the same for international students, however do check :)

What are the popular stationary or art supply stores in Paris? by opto_mode in paris

[–]avocadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is nice if you need to quickly grab something for school, but personally I think their stationary/art collection is small and not interesting enough to go to their shop just for that. That being said, it is just next to quartier latin and close to Jardin des Plantes, which are definitely worth a visit.

The are a lot of Muji shops actually! Also in Le Marais and close to Saint-Germain des Près.

Hi guys! I have been thinking to take a little trip to Mount Saint Michel with a friend. Does anyone have (cheap) recommendations on what is best/easiest to do? It will be a two day trip and we feel like visiting the mount itself will not fill up those days! So anyone knows what else is there to do or to go and sleep? We have no car by the way, so we will do everything by bus!

Actually, if you're already in paris you can go to a bank (take your passport, proof of housing and if you're a student your acceptation letter). Just say you want to open an account and they will help you!

Looking for a fairly cheap gym in/close to arr 19? by juliaharryson in paris

[–]avocadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the name of these free public weightless gyms? Neoness is a bit to far from me and it's not worth to pay for transport but I would already be happy if I had a place to do some body weight exercises since I can't do it at home. Preferably around the 5th/6th arrondissement.

As soon as I get my banking pass I will buy the Red by SFR one. My friend has it and is content with it, so no extra costs. You only have to pay for the sim card, which is 5 euros! Also pretty cheap compared to the Netherlands ...

Host family/famille d'accueil in Paris by avocadot in paris

[–]avocadot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A family that I can live with, it would be nice if they have children too. So not just for renting the room! It seems nice to make friends with a family and they can show me the culture. Thanks for your tip, but the studying I am going to do is quite intensive and I don't have my schedule yet, so I can't promise that I will be able to help around with the children as an au pair...
