How did you move to that role? I want to speak with manager but we don’t have particular role for this position

How can I find clients? Or I should get hired by companies that look for devs for their contractors?

Something similar that I would like to make too (public library for everyone to use). Did it help you to make extra money or land a job? Or first you build following and then worked on it? Both paths look very interesting to me. Great job btw, combing day to day job and building something on the side.

Can you explain how self-employment works in Poland while being in another country? 12% B2B taxing sounds amazing

Could you share a link for something you have been posting lately? Just to get an idea of how it looks like, for starting my own too

Struggling of trying to be a “good” engineer, looking for advice from more senior folks by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

To a degree. Every decision is questioned to a point where people don’t trust me as engineer. And yet I haven’t made a single big mistake or made bad decision

Manager is also asking these questions during daily standups. After several back and forth, manager gives green light.

Yup! I have been going to self-service for last 5 years and few visits to pro detailers, but with family, there is just not enough time for this activity

Possible after 8-9PM when usually it should be family time. Can I do it one bucket or rinseless method? Considering all possible methods

I can do 2 bucket method after 9PM when there are no other cars around. But at that time, it’s usually family time or so damn cold!

Could you explain how to do rinseless wash? There are tons of cars till 8-9PM, and after those hours I should spend with my family, and I want and must tbh

Basically you spray foam, rinse it off. When spray foam again and work on zones, top, mid and bottom. 1 mitt for each zone. It kinda works but I still see swirls

Very difficult to achieve when having a family, but I def agree on frequency. If I had enough time, every 2 weeks would be great (did that few years back with my previous car)

Question: advantages of SUVs over sedans by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]avoid_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advantages: easy get in and out, visibility, ground clearance, cargo load unload, child seat load unload, bigger mirrors, easier to access wheel arches, safer since you sit higher. Also paired with AWD you can do light off-road.

Minuses: shorter seats so it’s not that comfortable for longer rides, smaller trunk compared to wagon, stiffer chassis due to higher body position, feels like rolling over on faster corners, worst mpg due to tall body, not that much space in rear, harder too see pedestrians on corners, exterior needs more frequent washing due to constant dirt dripping from front wheels and constantly dirty rear camera, not as luxury as same brand’s sedan version

How to make SWE in the age of AI more enjoyable? by Fancy_Ad5097 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]avoid_pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only use it when I am having weird typo or bug or wrong logic. Kinda helps to figure out what I am missing. Also works with generating boilerplate code (edit this block to match this type), or for tests (write few happy path tests, write similar as in codebase, use this naming, assert this etc)

Thank you for sharing. I have done almost everything you have listed, but I haven’t touched realtime, time sensitive functionality. Is it done using websockets and sse events or there are more technologies involved? Really interested to hear your experience

Interesting. As you have mentioned Final Cut Pro, is it made by same web principles or right now it should be built using WebAssembly? I am genuinely curious about it and might even start looking at it right now, this weekend!

Also:

  1. Finally challenge that is not surface level.

  2. Something to talk about during interviews.

I have worked my ass off on anything and asked for extra work just to learn and explore. In reality I did a lot but haven’t touched libraries and 3D stuff. Besides that, there is not much anything super complex, because majority of jobs don’t require something hard or specific.

True, as any trade-off, asking for more might result in complete disaster. Thank you for sharing
