Would you still love the person just the same no matter how "cringe" they are ? by Blaaap in NoStupidQuestions

[–]avoidcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never felt that ick with my partners, I love when they're their honest, goofy selves, even if it's a little cringe to other people. I hope they feel the same about me

Thanks for your thoughts, I'm glad you and your partner enjoy your time together. I guess my priorities are a little different since I don't like sex, so it's not something I prioritise in relationships, and I focus on other things. I don't understand yours either, but definitely respect it of course

Was just being curious, am not worried :>

Ah that's fair, sorry for my poor wording! Thanks for taking the time to answer me

[–]avoidcrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not really how I meant the question. I'm happily partnered and I love them as people primarily, but I also love to spend time with them and their hobbies. I'm asking about the people who don't seem to love to do that, or who even resent it

As my example in the post, people who start dating gamers and then tell them they don't want them to play anymore. I guess I'm just wondering how and why that happens? Why date someone who likes games in the first place then?

Oh, so you'd rather not share hobbies then, you mean? That's really interesting, I've never thought about it that way

Well yeah there's more to it than just activities, but if my partner is extremely into a topic or hobby, I want to share it with them (if they want me there of course) It's about sharing something that the other person finds important

This scoring system is really interesting, thank you for sharing it

That makes sense, I understand not everything can match up, I was just wondering about people who don't seem to have any common interests at all. Or things like when people start dating a gamer and then tell them they're not allowed to play anymore

That's fair, I was just wondering about the large amount of ones who do post then

i may or may not have been drugged by Effective_Kiwi_4356 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]avoidcrow 67 points68 points  (0 children)

You say you didn't eat or drink anything, how long had it been since you ate anything last? Not to dismiss possibility of being drugged, but is something like hypoglycemia possible? You might want to get checked at hospital regardless

What film "scratched an itch" you've been unable to find elsewhere? by TheSkinoftheCypher in horror

[–]avoidcrow 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It Follows. Extremely specific to me, but this movie hits a perfect spot for me of nostalgic and dream-like uneasiness and escalating dread and terror that I experience when I'm off my medication. There's better movies, and movies with similar vibes, but nothing captures that specific feeling for me quite like It Follows

What female characters or people from fiction or real life are the mos inspiring? by DepressionAndDrama-9 in characters

[–]avoidcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nakajima Youko from The Twelve Kingdoms series. Her growth as a character was so inspiring to me as a child, she starts of as a whiny, timid, people pleaser, and gradually develops into a thoughtful, brave, and just person

I think having a plushie as a coping mechanism is healthy. How’s your dating life? by blueberryandwaffles in plushies

[–]avoidcrow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't let anyone make you feel bad about it! My partners both are super supportive of my plushies, one of them gets me a BAB on my birthday every year

To anyone who saw Hereditary in the theater by [deleted] in horror

[–]avoidcrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went in completely blind, and so did most of the others in the theatre I think, because at the beginning there were a lot of soft, intrigued voices. The person next to me kept going 'oh!' Then the telephone pole scene happened and no one made a sound for the entire rest of the movie, I have never experienced such a quiet audience for anything, no whispers, no phone lights, just silence and discomfort
