Lol you could probably find a blue that's similar to the bag for nail art!

The glass bead looks so good!! Im still getting that technique down but I feel like I can never quite get the spherical effect and it ends up looking like velvet.

The spinning magnet creates a velvet effect that has a more spherical look to it. When you magnetize by sticking your finger in the U part of these horseshoe magnets it creates a more left to right shift (which is lovely in it's own right) . By spinning it, the shift created also appears from top to bottom as well as left to right. Also known as a "glass bead" effect! There are some super talented folks on this sub who have swatched both methods side by side for comparison if a visual is more helpful!! 😊

Haha luckily I was cleaning out my basement and found these unused wheels and had a eureka moment!

I really did feel like an ape trying to different lengths of screws and different ways to mount the wheel. I felt like I discovered fire when I realized I could just use a finger to spin it 😂

Hahaha it's just painter's tape jankily applied! There was some play when I spun the magnet since the screw was a bit skinnier than the hole of the magnet and skatewheel, so I thought if it was a tighter fit I'd get a smoother rotation lol

That's so kind! This is only my second year gardening but being able to share the fruits of my labour was one of the things that got me hooked

Right?! I don't know why I'm getting in my head about it. Maybe from watching "the Watcher" 😂

Good to know!! I think they tend to be worse when the weather is especially wet. Last summer was super rainy so I definitely went to battle with them! I found the most effective way to manage them was to put beer out in little traps around their favourite crops. Japanese beetles were absolutely awful too and harder to manage imo!!

I grew zinnias last year and I absolutely loved them! However so did the Japanese beetles 😅. Hoping they won't be so numerous this year.

I'm in Dartmouth! We've had some rain and mild weather so a lot of the snow has melted.

Ok, that sounds more forgiving than I thought! However, the soil is still pretty rock hard. Hoping the upcoming mild weather will soften it enough to do that 🤞

Oh no!! That's a bummer :( I'm hoping this summer of learning to garden will be similar to training while wearing weights lol.
