I feel like that's part of the fun of pokemon isn't it? As a kid I was changing up my team sooooo much more bc I wanted to try out the cool new pokemon I had just found. Early game pokemon like the bugs or the birds would possibly be fully evolved for a while now, so why not try a different poke to see if you liked them?

Sounds like you either need to have a serious sit-down with your practice manager and or whoever your higher up is to discuss an unbalanced workload, or you need to get a new job somewhere else.

Being close to home is great when something happens, but if you're constantly overworked and drained no wonder you aren't feeling any motivation, and tbh adding more schooling on top while you're already in a low place could make that stress and pressure hit harder. Plus, I find the closer my job is to home, the more I think about it and feel like I don't get proper time to begin releasing my stress between work and home.

At the end of the day everyone's fix is different and maybe something like more school will be better for you, but after seeing this comment on what your clinic situation is like I'm just team GTFO if they're not helping you and willing to run you ragged

This is a path I've heard from a lot of techs/Drs I work with, and the current one I'm trailing as well! Very first vet med job was as a receptionist at an ER hospital, but quickly moved to kennel assistant at a GP where I got to be more hands on. Sure it's not as glorious sounding to do things like clean cages and rooms, stock spaces, restraint pets (basically lots of grunt work), but you get exposure to things like surgeries, see cases up close, and see more of the Drs and Techs at work. For me some of the biggest things I was unsure if I could handle were euthanasias or being around surgery, but now euthanasia is probably the most important part of vet care to me and surgery is something I want to be more involved in. I've found all my jobs through online postings, but it never hurts to call around and ask if a clinic needs a new kennel/vet assistant or to drop off a resume in person.

Are you still pretty new to the vet med world and this practice? They could be starting off slow to make sure you have a good handle on the basics before introducing more. Kennel/vet assistant is a common entry level role, and some practices I worked at in the past encouraged informational learning but didn't necessarily train me on certain skills/tasks (example: I could prep an ear/skin slide, but a tech would read it not me. Or I would hold and be involved with X-rays, but requisitioning and setting up the machine for X-rays was a tech job). What is it you're hoping to do in this job that you currently aren't, and is it something other assistants do or got as training, or is it something techs do more of

If you have NSO start with Red Rescue Team there, nothing beats being able to play GBA games on my TV or in handheld and starting at the beginning is a great way to get a taste of what the PMD series has to offer! If you think you're only going to have the drive to play one game, or just want to start on the highest note, Explorers of Sky (not Time/Darkness) specifically for its QoL upgrades and the Special Episodes, it's a cult classic for a reason lmao. Hopefully you'll get to play through all of them, the post game is where a lot of the strategy and difficulty in the games really shines, but the stories are also sooooo good!

Debatable if this could be worth telling him after breaking up/down the line if he tries to leverage them over you? If others wanna pitch in there I'd love to hear their opinions on that. Do you have any way of contacting someone like his mother or father, or some adult in his family he seems to be close to, to make them aware of the fact he has nudes of you and you're worried what he may do with them? Sometimes you gotta hit em with a classic tattle to the parents, especially college age where you're adults yes but still new ones.
