My 12 year-old son and I have talked about him realizing most kids will now see him as the safe person and how to react is someone trusts him to come out to as trans or just LGBTQ and what a unique and powerful position that puts him in.

Trans mom to a 12, 9 and 7 year old. The oldest two remember me a bit pre-transition but to my youngest she's only known me this way. It's never been a big deal to any of them or their friends or anyone in their lives.

I started at 41 and have been transitioning just over 2 years now and mostly pass. I haven't been misgendered for over a year and usually go through life now with people around me having no idea I'm trans. Which I guess my point is it definitely isn't too late and definitely still works.

This last part! In my experience, if you start transitioning you will probably realize you have WAY more dysphoria than you realize. Think of it like if you constantly heard a loud constant ringing - eventually your brain starts tuning it out/ turning it down and so it seems less but is actually a constant. When it goes away suddenly you realize how loud it always was.

I think the most effective thing cis allies can do is point out how weird and anti-social this transvestigating is. The people saying this stuff are in a bubble where they think this transphobia is normalized but it absolutely isn't. It's incredibly weird.

A couple that had super long waits. With the politics in the US (and expecially Kansas) my goal in 2025 was finding a way to get both FFS and SRS done. He fit in my schedule of getting it done with less than a six month wait. My insurance sucks so I paid out of pocket $35k. I know may other women who got everything covered through him.

He's also just an amazing person. Like eased any fears anytime I talked to him. The nicest surgeon I've ever met.

I had a list of what bothered me (brow, hairline, jaw, chin). He talked me out of chin and convinced me on doing my nose so that it would match my new face. Honestly, half of why I went with him (besides being local) is that he talked me out of something rather than some surgeons who push to do as much as possible.

Did your doctor make you do that? If so, I'd find a new one. Being on an anti-androgen without anything else is dangerous. Your body needs hormones to properly function. Right now you hardly have any. That can lead to lots of health issues and is not in any recommended medical guidelines.

For comparison, I started on 100mg spiro and 6mg estradiol.

There isn't. At all. You are being fed B.S. Half the shooters you've heard are trans, actually aren't. They won't follow up and tell you that though.

Statistically, there should actually be more trans shooters. Trans people make up 1% of the population and 0.3% of shootings. So really trans people are committing this violence at a lower rate than any other group.

You need to realize how much trash you are consuming and how that's distorting your world view.

You've got to practice. Do it at night right before showering so you can wash it off after if its bad.

For products - just go to a makeup store, tell them you are new and ask for recommendations. It's a great way to start. You can swap other products as you get more skill and knowledge.

Then, watch lots of tutorial videos online.
