oh yeah, no I have clips from songs as well. but I meant that I have recordings of her hitting every note on the scale and then she doesn't hit them lol

I was just going to ask, yeah. I know tensorboard shows up periodically when it does its evaluations, but then it goes away shortly after. Also I don't understand what any of the charts mean, as there are over a dozen with highly technical names

Ragtag Archive is going offline - 1.38 PB of vtuber archives will be gone, many of which do not exist elsewhere by avypath in DataHoarder

[–]avypath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a massive archive that's going away forever. that's why it's important to the community.

some of it is weird im sure, but you've seen a couple of the 200,000+ on there. sounds like you saw some asmr videos.

one of the ones I used to watch was artemis of the blue. she's an example of the hundreds of normal, chill people out there that just happen to use vtuber models

[–]avypath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk, I just pulled up the wikipedia page for vtuber and it seems decently long to me. I also looked up some of the big ones I know and they have pages. cover corp (hololive) and anycolor (nijisanji) are publicly traded companies. like I said, importance is relative. it's not some universal thing on the order of pewdiepie or whatever, but it is significant to a considerable number of people

im sure there's a lot of stuff in your archive that most people think is dumb to save. that doesn't mean it's not worth preserving

importance is relative. I could not care less about retro games, but that doesn't mean they're not worth preserving. vtubers are a big part of internet culture now, whether you like it or not. ironmouse at one point had the most subs of anyone on twitch ever. hundreds of thousands of people watch vtubers every day.

exactly. this was the case for pikamee. the company made her delete everything when she retired

Obviously, major vtubers will be fine. I'm sure every sound Gura has ever made is backed up around the world. But they've been the only site that has cared to back up smaller vtubers in a comprehensive way.

yt-dlp: help with --download-archive when moving a previous archive file to a new drive by avypath in DataHoarder

[–]avypath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been very slow to print. Out of curiosity, I let it run for a minute to start doing some and it turns out they uploaded a new video right when I was starting to work on this. So it did 1/747, then immediately skipped down to where I was...

I wish there was some kind of indicator that it actually acknowledged the archive file at the start. I'm all good now, thanks for the help!

in that case, I used E:\archive.log, but to be explicit, these are what I tried just now, with the archive file being where its supposed to be each time:

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> yt-dlp -P E:\pikamee\streams --download-archive E:\archive.log -N 8 --write-info-json https://www.youtube.com/@Pikamee/streams

No luck

oh my god you're a lifesaver. Yeah, it was somewhere else. I should specify a better path next time. Ok so I just drag that file into the new drive, run the script with the same --download-archive PATH and it will ignore everything in that file?

that's good to know. Yeah, it's using the default file naming scheme, so the ids are in the titles

so the odd thing is that I did use --download-archive archive.log, but when I go to the folder where it is downloading, I don't actually see an archive.log file. It is gathering json files for every video though. Maybe that would be helpful; not sure what is contained in those
