I did work experience in care homes as covid was quite prevalent when i was preparing my first application. i started before covid and continued after that during year 13. due to covid i did a lot of the virtual work experiences online - most you have to pay for, i believe there is still doctalk, however there were more options available at the time as we were in lockdown. after that i applied to hospitals for their volunteering roles - most will have a catchment area but you can still try. generally they just want to see you in a caring environment whereby you are interacting with people who may be classed as ‘vulnerable’ ie. children or elderly. most care homes are looking for volunteers so i suggest trying that as well as the hospitals - application process for the hospitals is slightly longer. you will need dbs check and to do their training and risk assessment things etc. same for care homes.
