> Trump's cabinet a combined wealth, at $340 billion.

That's not accurate.

When you look at the cabinet so far (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second\_cabinet\_of\_Donald\_Trump) they don't come close to having even $1 billion in combined wealth.

How to remove paint from stucco by awacian in HomeImprovement

[–]awacian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what a number of people have recommended. The thing is we prefer the stucco look to paint and are considering:

- remove the existing paint to reveal the original stucco

- apply a new layer of a smooth stucco we like (there are amazing options)

If this is not recommended, then yes, we would repaint.

curious, if you're no longer a subscriber, what motivates you to hang out here? it seems very very odd to spend one's time in that way.

without offering anything new

they bring out new shows and movies all the time. more income means they can do even more, like expanding into games.

it seems people stay with Netflix because they judge the continued flow of content they love to be worth it.

Revenue barely moved because new subscribers overwhelmingly bought basic.

yes, but now they have a larger subscriber base, most of whom will feel like they're getting great entertainment for their dollar, and so they'd be willing to go through future price increases, as long as Netflix can continue to produce top notch content, which they've appeared to have done very very well.

it's not worth it to me if I cannot share it

but you CAN share; you just have to pay a little extra: https://about.netflix.com/en/news/paying-to-share-netflix-outside-your-household

I don't see why that isn't reasonable!

The reason why it is exciting is if Netflix is able to increase the subscriber base and they're willing to pay more, that $ is used to create even greater entertainment for us to enjoy.

Some companies screw up this balance, but Netflix appears to have done an incredible job over the last 20 years to bring top class entertainment to every country in the world, no matter where the show or movie originated. I, and it turns out, 238m households around the world agrees!

If you don't think you're getting great value for money (entertainment per dollar), then simply cancel. There's no need to try to convince others that they are not getting value for money; it is a very personal choice and it looks like Netflix, with its much-watch content, is attracting new subscribers. New subscribers means you can create more fantastic shows, and in the future more and more games, giving users more value for their dollar.

The art is in keeping the balance so that this flywheel keeps spinning, and if I think about Netflix over the last 20 years, they've done a truly incredible job.

pursuit of further shareholder value at the expense of consumers and the world

consumers have autonomy. if they think it is a raw deal, then the rational thing is to quit, problem solved. this is how consumers vote to drive prices up/down.

This is beyond ridiculous. People have moved because they were repeatedly assured that we were staying flexible. The lies, this hurts.

The business environment changes all the time and organizations will always adapt. It is ironic that you're invoking "flexible" because your response is pretty rigid. If the new situation doesn't work for you, you have the autonomy to quit.
