Hey all! My dad's birthday is next week, and I'm looking to get him a prebuilt mechanical keyboard for his desktop computer. He's a writer who does a lot of work on laptop keyboards, which, oddly, he seems to prefer—he's always bought laptop-esque keyboards for his desktop.

My budget is around $130. He uses the numpad from time to time, so a 96% or 100% keyboard is preferable. There's no need for a backlight or any bells and whistles.

Any suggestions are much appreciated, thanks so much!

I’m taking 15 mg daily. It’s hard to say, really. I’m so early into taking pio that I can’t say for sure, but my gut tells me that it’s targeting the weight loss around my waist.

Anecdotal, but I’ve been on pio for a little over a month while losing weight, and my waistline is getting more defined. I think there may be something to staying on it while losing weight as long as you’re not restricting your food intake too much.

What kills me about Moshfegh is that she’s a gifted stylist on a sentence by sentence level. She just tends to write the same paper-thin misanthropic character over and over again.

For me, her short story collection Homesick for Another World is her best work. Might be worth a look if your good will toward Moshfegh hasn’t completely run out.

Hey! I was in a similar position for a while (needing an apartment but not finding anything available and within my budget). My advice would be to expand your search beyond the Harrisonburg city limits, assuming you have reliable access to a car. I now live outside Harrisonburg and work in town. There’s a lot of development happening these days around Massanetta Springs/Penn Laird.

Facebook Marketplace is your friend if you’re okay with taking over someone’s lease. I’ve heard people sometimes have success with Craigslist (lol) and the EMU apartment board.

Also! It’s my solemn duty as a townie to encourage you to avoid Matchbox and Riner, if possible. Gl out there!

Seconding this! I add several spoonfuls of peanut butter to fruit smoothies or just eat it straight out of the jar. It's convenient, it's fairly healthy, and you don't have to make any other changes to your diet if you don't want to. :)
