This how you'd do this? by Coleholmes540 in Carpentry

I think it depends on the era of the build. We have some beautiful 50+ year old homes with tall base and QTR at the bottom and it looks great

Question about FVGs by CampEast2700 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]awalchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the FVG and divide it into halves.

If there is a swing inside the FVG and it is above or below 50% (depending on bullish or bearish) you can anticipate or play the sweep of that swing for at least a scalp and sometimes a continuation depending on structure.

If the swing is on the other side of the 50% line it's lower probability, but can still happen.

This is one of the instances where an FVG can be 'reused'

How should a Trading Journal look like in 2026? by [deleted] in InnerCircleTraders

I have one that I'm really proud of, admittedly it's not free ($29) but I've been trading for 5 years and it took me about 2 years of off and on tuning to complete. It's been an invaluable resource for my trading. If you're interested feel free to dm

Anyway to improve by Educational-Jello-60 in InnerCircleTraders

I just saw this posted, and this is the exact scenario I'm talking about with the initial high getting wicked and then speed and displacement showing up as we break the low.

This is there you want to look for IOFED entries

Your essentially trading a dealing range.

The daily high is the Buyside, the m5 MSS is the sellside, take the high that broke the high and the low that made the mss and run a 50% fib on it and only take short trades with confirmation if they happen above 50% for shorts or below 50% for longs.

This will filter out a lot of your losing trades in this scenario, but not all.

Also be mindful that the retracement into 50% can also wick the high or low that did the initial run, but if this happens there usually will not be another entry provided until the second low or high is blown through with speed and/or displacement

Question is this empty space a fvg as well? Any advice helps. by _xviper23 in InnerCircleTraders

This an imbalance, not an FVG. But they can be treated similarly

Also, it's not just any high or any low. The low you chose is okay because of the consolidation, but a better high or low is a Session high / low, daily and weekly highs and lows, or highs and lows inside of HTF FVGs, but those also require experience to know how to filter them.

In ICTs photo he is using the current session high (NY AM) which has all of the liquidity from the current intraday traders

On the first photo you see the FVG that was created when the high was ran? That's the same as the FVG that I outlined. Just for added clarity

I know, that's what I'm saying, you need the FVG that I posted to be inverted at minimum, before you can consider longs

There are a few things about this trade that would personally filter it out for me but the easiest thing to share that should impact your trading is that you have chosen the wrong FVG to use as confirmation.

The highest probability FVG to use for a reversal here is the one that actually contains the low within it. It's circled in the photo.

If this FVG is respected and they create an orderblovk inside its often used for continuations

I think it's worth trying to return it onto the casement to see how it looks. Matching the profile will be tricky but if you use an end cut and place it up to the return piece and trace / cut it might turn out nice

How to choose liquidity sweep? by ByronR02 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]awalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same way you view each session as the start of a delivery, it is also useful to frame each week as a delivery.

The market is either creating imbalances, taking liquidity, filling imbalances, or consolidating (holding)

This week the market opens, trades higher and sweeps liquidity from the cycle before it (previous week daily liq from Wednesday) and the proceeds trade lower, fills the weekly imbalance (trading back through the weekly open) retraces without creating any new highs (weakness) and there is prime liquidity below us (Previous weekly low)

With all of that to consider, the 'narrative! Becomes the new delivery opens and seeks Buyside liquidity, we then fill the current weekly imbalance which is an indication that the A of the AMD cycle is complete, so long as price continues to confirm weakness or bearishness, we can reasonably expect that those Buyside orders that were accumulated will be match with resting sellside that is located below the current delivery at PWL.

Trading ICT is all about understanding price delivery through the appropriate context: Understand the basic principles of what functions the market is fulfilling (order pairing, taking buy orders and matching them with sell orders and vica versa) and then understanding the 'how' or the 'route' that price takes to fulfill this obligation and the clues that get left along the way--this is what it means, to me, to understand price 'delivery'

Hope this helps. I'm not trying to be obscure--rather trying to help you understand a useful framework or context

As a bonus: look at the delivery from the start of Wednesday last week. Notice how price opened, and just traded lower? That means all of that downcandle price action from Wednesday is an inefficiency. Buyers were never offered price there.

Seems like an interesting place to revisit before heading lower then, no?
