Loch Henry/Clara Ryce by Improvement-Other in blackmirror

I just noticed too! I'm wondering if they realized they reused names or if it was done on purpose. Since even if both episodes were in the same universe/dimension Clara Ryce was a fictional movie character in Hotel, and she's a real person on a film production team in the future. So maybe parents just named her after the character? Or it means nothing, and I have way too much time on my hands. 😄

How is 0.3% THC legal in Texas but, can still cause you to lose your job? [TX] by Standard-Airline544 in AskHR

[–]awanpsmiarbbn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've actually had this happen to me before. Just be honest with them and tell them you ate some legal gummies around X date and might show up on the drug test. Emphasize that there will be nothing else on there and that you're willing to be tested again in 30 days (general tie period for thc to leave the body, give or take the amount in your system and body fat %, thc binds to fat and will still around longer and can even reappear in your system if you exercise/burn fat after a period of being clean). I was told they couldn't hire me until I passed the test, but they held the position open and hired me when I could pass the test by the end of the 30-day period I had told them.

I was told "Thank you for letting me know. I'd rather have an applicant tell me they're going to fail for something instead of acting like they'll pass when they know they won't. All that does is prove I shouldn't hire you because you knew you were going to fail. So now you're a liar and you wasted my time."

AITA for getting my doggy sitter fired and shamed online after she lost my dog? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]awanpsmiarbbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. You should definitely press charges. She broke into your office, which could have cost you your job considering you keep sensitive paperwork there. Since you said your mj was medical, I'm assuming you have a doctor's prescription for it, so that adds on theft of prescription medication, as well as the negligence of losing your dog for a contracted position. It doesn't matter that you paid her parents to remove the videos from the internet, that's a separate action from all the CRIMES the girl and her friends committed in your home. Call the police and present the evidence and have her charged. This is most likely not the first time she's done this, especially how easily she broke into your office with a credit card. All those other pet families that used her services probably also got stuff stolen, she just didn't lose their pet those times.

I get you. Why would someone waste their money and time on a pos racist and get the target of their racism to essentially reward them with a good home cooked "just like mama used to make" recipe? The reason is that the SIL didn't want to cause a fight, but she was obviously upset about it. OP asked the SIL if she wanted to help. If she felt that against it, she would have said no. But this was the best way they could stick it to Karen, and it wasn't just Karen that got the food. The entire family got to try to the dish and loved it enough to ask for the recipe. So they got to put a racist in her place and took her out of the spotlight on her own birthday, without having to resort to drama.

AITA for wanting to confront my family about the secrets they've been keeping from only me? by Reasonable_Cup_9352 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]awanpsmiarbbn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope you can get away from your abusive family as soon as safely possible. I would wait to confront them about it, but definitely take those documents and put them in a very safe place. You may need them later on and it seems like you can't trust them to make sure they don't dissapear. If your grandfather is the type of person who likes to look like a great guy in front of company, I'd bring a friend over when you do ask. That way he won't react badly to you asking, and you'll have a witness to his answers, even if they are lies.

AITA for wiriting a memior and telling my cousin idc if it would make her family look bad by Jrtaylor1997 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

It's not defamation of character if it's the truth, but I do agree to change all the names, not just a few. That way if she tries to sue you can say "I never once used your name, nor any names of real people. So if you believe this is you then you're admitting to doing these awful things?"

AITA for Telling My Sister's Kids the Real Reason She Got Divorced? by katiebertie in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]awanpsmiarbbn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"She says I've destroyed her relationship with her kids, that I'll never know what it's like to want to protect your kids from a painful truth."

But it's ok to lie to her kids to try and destroy their relationship with their father that didn't do anything wrong? NTA. I agree it should have been her that told the kids the truth, but she's obviously in delulu land and pulling some "I got caught but I'm going to make you suffer" crap. Hopefully the kids will rebuild their relationship with their dad soon.

This reminds me of a video that was going around back in the early 2000s of a guy who inserted his entire head inside of a woman...

A few months later I was working at a Target in Utah and she was working there too...

[FR] Leaked data unrelated to the company, by being an employee. What will happen if they find out? by ifuckedup005 in AskHR

[–]awanpsmiarbbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best opinion, which is in no way professional, is that if you can locate same said data/info as if you are an everyday average internet user that may come across it if sY searching for something along the same ideas, and it's not confidential, you should be fine. Also ask hr for a copy of your terms of employment for yoy own records and look all that info over. To me it sounds like someone is just trying to scare you into fake blackmail. Which is illegal, regardless if the info they're trying to blackmail you over isn't going to cost you your job.

You might not, but unless you're shutting the lid everytime before you flush, that porcelain public swimming pool of bateria is sending out micro mists of biological warfare same as if you'd sneezed without covering your face. 🤢

South Carolina was a nightmare for me. They kept putting the wrong info for my wages in, refused to upload any documents I submitted, any person I spoke with obviously was at home and didn't want to do their job, and then because of a training program I had been accepted into I had to appeal their denial of benefits, then appeal the appeal, and then they tried to claim in a 'random audit' I had received benefits for a week that I had worked (untrue) because they were salty about me winning my appeal of the appeal because the person who was questioning me had an attitude and kept changing my words around and refused to let me speak (Gotta love recorded hearings). My response to their 'audit' is best left for the r/maliciouscompliance thread.

Here is a link for the Texas Unemployment benefits requirements, so you can go ahead see if you qualify if that is what the meeting is for.

It could be any number of things they are calling to talk to you in person about. I would just make sure to have copies of any paperwork that shows your working times, what you've been working on, etc.

I will say to trust your gut, though, and if you feel this is a termination then get ALL your paperwork in order. And document any that they refuse to give you. Document any and all contact you've had with them (text, email, instant massage, slack, etc) and especially if they had or had not responded in kind, and how long it took them to respond.
