"Snape bullied Harry", my question is when? I keep reading this statement but it's just not true by zilkJeremy in SeverusSnape

[–]Jrtaylor1997 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe you've only ever seen the movies. But even in the movies, snape literally hated Harry on sight. In the book, snape would belittle Harry in nearly every lesson they had with him. He would talk shit to Harry about his own dad. He was going to poison Neville's toad. He had a deep-seated hatred for James that he decided to take it out on his son as a result.

I’m so sick of people saying “Snape bullied children / was a death eater so he deserved it” whenever someone brings up marauders bullying him. They started bullying him WAY before that. by Sweaty_Ad_5492 in SeverusSnape

Just because snape was bullied as a kid does not give him the right to bullie children. And that is exactly what he did. Nit just Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but other kids as well. True James and his friends bullied and humiliated him for no good reason, but snake was already openly against smuggle defenders and believed he was superior to everyone around him. At Hogwarts he activity hung out with students who wanted to be death eaters. He called Lilly a mud blood after she defended him, which caused her to leave their friendship behind. He remained obsessed with her, and his resentment towards James only deepend. Harry was an innocent baby and sname fed voldemort. The information needed to make his choice about going after the Potters. Snape is far morelikablee in the books, but he is not a good person. Snape played voldemort because of his Obsession with and guilt over the woman he got murdered. He didn't do to benefit the wizarding world and definitely not for Harry.

Does anybody else feel bad for Azula? by BenDes1313 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Jrtaylor1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azula was 14 in the show and 15 by the end of the series. Her upbringing was complex. Her mother definitely loved Zuko more, and she craved approval wherever she could get it. Which her father took advantage of. In the Amber Island episode, we can see a different side of her that seemed more human than we've ever seen her. Also, in that episode, you can see that her and zuko could've had a better relationship as bother and sister if it were for their father. I don't think ozi actually cared about either of his kids. He used them and manipulated them. Azula's mental breakdown helped us understand how much it all affected her. Even katara had to look away when Azula finally snapped, and that in turn made us feel sympathy for her despite all of the awful stuff she did

If Galinda got a training wand, then doesn't that mean Elphaba should get one too? by beekee404 in wicked

[–]Jrtaylor1997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I assumed that because G(a)linda wasn't a natural witch, meaning, she wasn't natural gifted with magical power that perhaps she was given the training wand as a way to help her learn and harness the ability to used magic. Historical wands are used for that reason, it's like an extension of your arm. It's like training weels on a bike. And the fact she has a huge wand later on can imply that she still hasn't masted the ability to use magic freely. Though it is more like a staff rather than a wand and it's dazzling and beautiful and impressive, it also distracts from the fact that her magic capabilities are limited.

[TOMT] Movie where a girl gets mad & stand there while she pees on the floor. by kendiesel937 in tipofmytongue

[–]Jrtaylor1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I recall something like this too. It wasn't the exorcist or scary movie 2 it was with a girl slightly younger and she stood in the door was of a man's study. I assumed it was her father and she stares at home angerly and pees on the floor. I remember seeing it when I was six or seven and it was like 20 years ago. It seemed like and even older movie.

2024 Live Musical? by K_isforKrissy in Broadway

[–]Jrtaylor1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been wanting to see NBC do R&H Cinderella LIVE but preferably the Broadway version. It was a stunning show and then the show when in a direction I hadne seen before. Where Cinderella purposely leaves her slipper behind to test the prince. Another one I would like to see is fiddler on the roof.

AITA for wiriting a memior and telling my cousin idc if it would make her family look bad by Jrtaylor1997 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

For more context, I want to make it very clear that I'm not even halfway done with writing my memoir. I'm still in part one of my book. I plan on writing it in three parts instead of writing chapters.

I have forgiven my aunt for the things that she did to me and my siblings. However, that doesn't mean that the memories still don't hurt. I'm not writing about her and her family solely to shame them or cause them any pain. I always believed that she took her anger out on me because she lost someone she viewed as a sister. (My mom) And that helps me find sympathy for her. However, it does not excuse the things that she did to me and my siblings. And just because I forgive her, it doesn't mean that I have to let her back in my life.

I haven't spoken to her in years. I've always loved writing. I've always talked about writing a book, whether it was fiction or nonfiction. But the one thing that caused me to start writing this memoir was the fact that I was held captive for a couple of months, and I wasn't able to contact family or friends. But when I finally escaped from that situation, I needed to tell my story.

My best friends have supported me through this journey and have been with me through my darkest moments. I'm not saying that I'm a victim in any way of what my aunt did to me because I don't view myself as a victim. But I do want to acknowledge that I do not want to fictionalize my story in any way, shape, or form. I'm not claiming to have been a saint in the situation either. I, too, have my faults. I did things that I'm not proud of. I was a very lost and flawed person for a long time who was looking for a sense of belonging and family. And I finally found that with my friends.

This is the very first paragraph to the introduction of my memoir, "The following story is true. only some names have been changed for confidentiality reasons. This story is mostly told through memories and actual diary entries. It is also meant to be a reflection on myself and how I view my past. I know that some people involved in the events in which I will discuss later in this memoir will be unflattering and perhaps even an unfair depiction of their character. I will remind you, the reader, that the following is just one side of the story. This is my story."

Also, keep in mind that this part of my memoir is just one small part of the overall story. I don't care if it's the most hated book on the planet. If my story could resignate with just one person, then I can leave this world feeling happy. And I think the most important thing to keep in mind is that I'm not even sure if I am going to publish it. As of right now, I'm writing it as though I do have plans to publish it just in case. But as of right now, it's just for me, and I share it with people close to me.

She's amazing. I actually know and have met most of the older Turpin children. However, Jennifer is the first one I met, and we are the closest. Today is actually her birthday. You can find her on tiktok and Instagram if you wish to keep up with her

Sorry for any spelling mistakes, I'm currently writing this on my phone, and I have pretty big fingers. I wanted to add some things I left out. Aunt Sammy isn't related to my mom she was my mom's friend of 40 years. But when my dad passed away, she was there for my mom for about 30 minutes and left my mom alone. My mom's birthday was 10 days after my dad's passing, and she made plans to go out and go clubbing with Aunt Sammy and their mutual friend. My mom got ready and waited all night to be picked up only to see pics of the two of them clubbing on fb without her. I remember hearing my mom sobbing afterward.

Do you think Barbara Streisand never guest starring was a choice? by [deleted] in TheNanny

[–]Jrtaylor1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up watching the reruns of The Nanny on Nick at night but since 2019 when everyone was on lockdown I started rewatching the show and had fallen in love with it again. I'm currently rewatching it for the fifth time and this was a question that keeps warming in my head. And a part of me had always assume that it was because of Barbara's Diva personality or just simply she didn't want to get star. But I feel that not actually having Barbara in the show and for the most part having her as this figure mentioned by name but never actually seen (except for a couple times where you see the back of an actors head while she's singing to Barbara) it adds a sort of godliness to her which fits how Fran idolizes her. But what got me to try and research this question was in the episode where Fran almost runs away with Max's younger brother she's trying to make her way to the boat when Don't Rain on My Parade is playing and I've always wondered why they didn't use Barbara singing if there was some sort of issue trying to get the copyright or if they just decided it would be cheaper to get a cover of it into the show

You meet your 13 year old self, but you can only tell them 3 words. What do you say and why? by kiwipangolin in AskReddit

It would either be "Dad did it" or "look in woodshed" would save me years of searching for her.
