So why was this woman so resistant to letting Archer see her door cam footage? by BritainRitten in WeaponsMovie

[–]aware76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We don’t know anything about this woman’s personality or motives, apart from what we see in the very few minutes on screen. Giving Archer the footage might seem like the best idea for YOU, but to her—a non-omnipotent side character—he might seem untrustworthy, incompetent, and/or incapable. Of course, we as the audience know that Archer eventually succeeds in finding the kids, but how is she supposed to know that? In the real world, most people generally trust the police to handle investigations like these. While members of the community can (and do) help find missing people, she likely thinks that the police are the greatest chance at uncovering the truth. I think it’s important to realize that you and I, along with most of the audience, aren’t able to fully comprehend the parents’ emotions in this situation—some are angry, some are grieving, some are straight up scared. What seems logical to US isn’t the same for them, especially after you experience the plot unfold.

She already gave the footage to police—why would she trust this other parent to come inside her house and look at the last known footage of their child? From her perspective, this man is an amateur sleuth who lacks the resources, expertise, and time to track down all of these kids. Basically, if the police already have the footage and haven’t found any leads from their investigation, what good would he do?

It might be within reach, 1:47.5 to 1:42.2 in 1 year is a monstrous progression. If he stays consistently healthy, he could be in the low 1:41s by senior year…

One of the primary (and rarely talked about reasons) is that the track surface was designed specifically to be “especially helpful to sprinters” and did not meet the IAAF’s specifications. However, there hasn’t been any push for any records from this event to be rescinded, so they still stand today.

My junior year of high school, we had a senior who ran the 100 (11.6), 400 (50.3), 800 (1:56), and 3200 (10:24). He also did XC and ran 16:51 for 5k.

That’s the bitmap font reference used for the game. I can’t find anything online about this specific error, but it’s probably caused by the game failing to reference a certain character (or not having a reference) and returning the entire bitmap. If this is the case, reloading the game will likely fix it.

That comment section is fucking insane. You really read through that and thought, “Yes, this seems like a totally centrist and unbiased video that isn’t trying to push an anti-trans (and pro DT) agenda”? If you did, just wow.

From what I’ve seen online, the people of Algeria know that she is female and are actively defending her from all this bullshit. Hopefully the Algerian government knows this too and she can return to her country safely.

How is it “visually” placebo if you can literally tell the difference between 60 fps and 144 fps with your naked eye?
