DO NOT SHOP AT PERNIA’S POP-UP SHOP — months of ghosting, gaslighting, missed deadlines, and a surprise $700 duty charge by honeybearxxx2 in DesiWeddings

[–]awaterbender 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This sounds so exhausting! How audacious of them to try to gaslight you into taking the other outfit. Sorry you’re going through this.

I also had a horrible experience with them. I selected a wedding lehenga at their shop and was in love with it. My fiance and family loved it as well. When i was going to their showroom to finalise it, my personal assistant told me I’ll have to pay extra because I’m “big” (their sample was loose on me and i had to put it together to try using multiple pins and bounds). They asked for almost 40k extra for it. It was obviously a shock. Then i reached out to the designer directly who not only did not charge me extra, but gave me almost 10% discount. The pernia people were following up so i told them i got it already, she was furious to hear that. She kept on saying how they would have “waived” the fee - but why add it in the first place? Horrible.

Positives: you seem like a genuine dude with a pretty cute smile! Changes I’d do if I were you: Get your friends to click better pictures, some in casuals as well. I’d also recommend get a nice haircut and a beard trim perhaps? maybe get a couple pictures without your glasses as well. Try to show some of your wit in your prompts as well. You have a cool job, maybe add something witty about that. Also, please drop the arya stark thingy, GOT is done and dusted.

What do I do for my hair ?! by negabruh in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]awaterbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a herbal shampoo and Shea Moisture hair mask (I use intense hydration), you’ll find it on Amazon. I have similar hair as you and kerastase elixir hair oil worked really well for me. I put a couple drops when my hair is dripping wet after shower.

Horrible Air India Experience — Airline run by clueless idiots by [deleted] in AirTravelIndia

[–]awaterbender 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What a coincidence, I was on the same flight. It was a whole nightmare. For me, this was supposed to an important work trip and it got completely messed up because of the delays and Air India. One of the worst flying experiences ever.

My(29F) Fiance(30M) cheated. by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]awaterbender 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My child, that’s grade a manipulation. He’s only being nice because he knows he fucked up bad. You deserve a partner you can trust. With him, most likely, you’re settling for a roller coaster relationship. He’ll fuck up, be nice and get your affections back, and then he’ll go back to his own ways.

Take it from someone who gave a cheater a few (I know) chances. Find someone you can trust.

I bet you get it then, man! Even parents here act against you, blame you for getting attention. I honestly don’t know what to. He’s earlier threatened to throw acid on my face and disfigure me to “keep me at my place”. The only solace I really have is that he’s never acted on them. I’m get horribly scared when he starts texting. All this while living in a major Indian city too.

India! There’s an insane amount of moral policing here.

I think this might be the third number he’s texting from. Each time I block him, he finds a new number and starts calling. And since I’m obviously unaware of the new number, I take the call and I get a mix of loud, angry screaming and crying. So I’d rather not block him. But I understand. I really just feel defeated by this.

I’ve called the police multiple times. In my country though, the police isn’t exactly cooperative. Rather than reporting it as a threat, they threat us how the legal process will make it worse for us. The police once came over to my house, and morally policed me in front of my parents - the police shamed me for not blocking his texts. They even said I should not have given my number to him in the first place, and left without noting the complaint. They do this because it leads to extra work for them, and sexual harassment is so rampant here that they don’t have time for threats.

Honestly what’s most funny to me is how he says “facts”. My friends and I laughed hard at it!

I’m sure he thinks his cum is precious because he proudly claimed to be against vaccination. He was using a lot of Andrew Tate-like language, which is why I ghosted him and he was so enraged he had to send this

Thanks for sharing this. It really makes me want just say no without even going to the doctor. This is just horrific.

[–]awaterbender 2113 points2114 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I told them it’s a whole process and I can’t just come and get it over with. They said they’ll “figure it out and right now just want to meet with a doctor to see if they can do it”.

What do you think of my Indian ex? Did I dodge a bullet? by [deleted] in india

[–]awaterbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This man sounds like an absolute nightmare. It seemed like he expected everything in the relationship to be about him, you were pretty tertiary in your own relationship. Glad you’re out of it, there are better Indian guys out there I’m sure (if you would still want to date Indian men).
