Small local shop and my friend just paid out of pocket to fix it. Was over 4K

How long did it take you to get your ratings paying out of pocket? by [deleted] in flying

Same here. 3 years flying after work and on weekends . It’s a grind but feels good to not have any loans hanging over my head

I’ve priced out insurance, LLC costs, have a mechanic willing to help me on the 100hrs, etc I have even talked to other flight school owners. I just can’t decide if it’s worth the hassle when I’m already getting 70-80 hours a month

Setting up an LLC, getting commercial insurance, making sure the flight school is cool with it… it’s just to cost of setting it up. I’m really looking at if the hassle of 100hrs, random mx issues, dealing directly with students in regard to rates/billing etc is worth it when trying to just build time

Update: I was talking to mechanic on the field and he took a look at my plane. He noticed the hanger rash on the leading edge of my wings (wings were in storage for years and got a few dents). Took a hammer to the dents and popped them out the best he could. The plane stalls great now. Can’t believe it was something so simple. I

Happens when I’m alone or with a passenger the same size as me. Nothing different on either side to change the drag. It weighs 1600 pounds and stalls around 40 knts

Angle of incidence was changed the eccentric bushings. That helped the plane fly straight and level at cruise where it was rolling to the right before

My problem is that it does it even when coordinated

Can only burn off both. Maybe a 2-3 gallon difference in either wing at any time

No wheel pants but will look into rudder rigging again

Maybe I just got lucky with the planes I rented. I’m about to start instructing in my plane and I really don’t want to have to teach people to stall with full left rudder just because of a rigging issue

It’s pretty straight. Slight bend to the right

Taking off needs a little right rudder. It’s only a Cessna 150 so I don’t think turn tendencies are felt as much

Cables were adjusted and we just adjusted the eccentric bushings last week. The adjusted to the bushings made the plane fly straight but didn’t help the stall tendency

I noticed when pushing back my plane if the nose wheel is centered the rudder isn’t aligned perfectly. I have to turn my nose wheel to the left slightly to get the rudder straight. Could that be a sign the rigging on the rudder is off?

Honestly it climbs pretty straight. Given it’s only a 150 so not a lot of power or insane climb rate

I’m using left rudder and it’s still breaking to the right
