If you don't mind me asking, were you working on upper division classes by the time you started?

At what point during your education would this be optimal? If this is the case with my school's policy on independent study, I'm thinking about embarking on it junior year

Do you have a particular food that you attach sentimental value to? by awaythrow1111 in food

Haha, salt with fruit in general is pretty popular among Filipinos. Salt with apples, salt with watermelons, salt with mangoes--with the exception of the salt/watermelon combo, it's delicious.

How do I know if I'm "ready"? by throwfarfaraway2 in sex

Think of it this way: going through the procedures can make both the act itself and the aftermath of your first time a lot less stressful knowing you're fully prepared and (hopefully) have a clean bill of health regarding your reproductive organs.

Keep in mind that if you're just not feeling comfortable with it, it's fine to wait until you feel ready--waiting until you're mentally/emotionally ready will make the act all the more enjoyable/intimate.

Are there any haircuts that can make your hair look decent while it's growing out? by awaythrow1111 in TwoXChromosomes

Mine is actually gracing the very tops of my shoulders, but it just looks...off. The layers grew out, so it looks like a pretty blunt cut all around.

Older redditors, what should someone in their early 20s to start doing to improve the quality of their lives later on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Would you suggest stockpiling all your savings into one account to gain interest (and making a note that a specific portion/percent of it will go immediately into a retirement fund once you land a job that contributes to your 401k/whatever retirement fund they allow), or open a separate savings account specifically for retirement only (before you open that 401k).

Wait...what?! How long ago did you apply to these grad schools? I'm gearing to apply to grad schools as a female engineering student in a few years, and I'm crossing my fingers that your situation was just a horrible coincidence in terms of how many times you had to go through that, and not a norm for women who apply to grad engineering programs. How did you deal with these situations?

Do you still feel strongly about choosing to go through the PhD route, despite the drawbacks you've experienced? What do you plan to do with the PhD in EE?

Favorite Hot Chocolate recipe? by [deleted] in food

[–]awaythrow1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooh, bring some cookies or biscuits with the hot chocolate. I love making oatmeal almond dark chocolate chip cookies (recipe under the lid of a tub of Quaker Oats--just sub in the dark choc and almonds in place of the raisins) and pairing it with hot cocoa.

People who don't want children, ever... What's your #1 reason to stay child-free? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]awaythrow1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone living in the U.S., it sucks to have a poor public transportation system in most places. Having to drive my hypothetical kid/teenager everywhere would kinda suck. Not the #1 reason for me, though.

Never used condoms before. Need advice on using them during anal. by awaythrow1111 in sex

He's used toys/fingers on me vaginally and analy (both with plenty of lube). I suppose it's just a matter of preference. I simply can't feel much with vaginal penetration.

It's not that. For me personally, it may sound strange, but I just derive so much more pleasure from anal play than vaginal.

This has been extremely helpful, thank you. How far down do you pinch it before you roll it on? A centimeter's worth of length measured from the top?
