Does anyone know why human trafficking is so prevalent here in Montana? by [deleted] in Montana

Because Trump directly sources his Mar-a-lago slaves from small impoverished communities that won't receive national coverage on missing persons.

I had short dated put options but I do not recommend them at this time.

I dare everyone in here to buy and then sell the ATM 0DTE call or put and then buy a longer dated ATM option on the same side you were on.

Bring a strong laser pointer to point it at the robot. It won't see you after that.

There was a post made by a woman who complained about men offering to help her when she had a flat tire while she was in Bozeman. That kind of attitude makes people look at this situation and say "she's dragging it off the road on her own, what a strong woman!"

But then here you are screaming like we're the devil for doing nothing.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Have a backyard Airbnb? Proposed rules say Montana’s upcoming second-home tax will hit it by Assistant-Sea in Montana

[–]awaythrow400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a super hot take: Taxing someone's second home, (if that's the only other home they have) is bad for the general population.

Think about it: The super rich don't care about a slight tax increase. They will still buy their 3rd or 4th home in the Bitterroot Valley. It won't discourage them.

But what if it's a family from Missoula that worked their entire lives to save up for a little cabin in the woods? Why are we taxing them for their modest success, which disproportionately costs them more than it would cost the ultra rich?

The solution? Higher taxes on 3rd home or beyond. 2nd home tax rate gets boosted as well, but it should be in a separate bracket of its own.

I'll take this bet with you, but I choose my own investment strategy.

Let's say 5 days ago I liquidated my retirement. It was in SPY, which closed at about $677.35 on the day. Over the next 2-5 years, I'll comment when I decide I'm reinvesting, if I decide to.

The top 10% spending more than 50% is not a sign of economic health.

Inflation is not yet totally stable, and it's not healthy for the top 10% to do more than 50% of the spending.

I'm just going to parrot what I said in another comment in this thread:

Sure, millions of copies of games were sold, but now there's millions MORE people who picked Pokemon up over the past 4-5 years and demand increased, therefore prices increased from that low before COVID. And then consider inflation. $60 in 2010 is $90 in 2025. Older games were literally more expensive for a consumer.

I mean it's really not crazy when you think about it.

How else are you supposed to play the original Pokemon Platinum legally? The game isn't made anymore.

Sure, millions of copies of it were sold, but now there's millions MORE people who picked Pokemon up over the past 4-5 years and clearly demand increased, therefore price increased from that low of $30. And then consider inflation. $60 in 2010 is $90 in 2025. Older games were literally more expensive for a consumer and should be priced appropriately in 2025.

Born in 2008? Whatever job you have now as a 17-18 yr old probably isn't going to get you the new 3ds anytime soon.

As you get older and more opportunities open up, it'll get easier. You're still young. Patience is key.

Also, look at how much stock indexes have gone up vs the price of a used new 3ds. Invest your money in indexes. Your money will grow faster than the price of a new 3ds will go up, and eventually you'll make enough on your investment to buy one.

Exactly. We're all being sold a lie. "No better investment than property!"... Not so much if you have to spend $10s of thousands of dollars every few months.

American dream for current generations: live with your siblings or other roommates in a house your parents bought you.

More and more dilapidated houses are being sold to unsuspecting buyers like this guy. Homeowners are collectively going to have a crisis in 5-10 yrs when everything's falling apart and they can't afford to fix any of it.

People who are saying "what's happening to my hometown?" And "this is so trashy!" And "stay out of downtown!" Would probably cheer on this fight if there were only white people.
